Our dealer has just phoned. The car will be delivered to them tomorrow. We collect on Saturday morning at 9.00am. :drive1:

Ordered 1 Feb. Build week 11. Left Barclelona 17 March. Disembarked Tynemouth 23 March. Delivered to dealer 26 March. Collected by customer 29 March.

Seems I spoke too soon. The dealer phoned again today. The car transporter rocked up at the dealership today - minus our car.

The dreaded dealership strike again - they promised a Tuesday pick up...didnt happen...promised tomorrow but I had a feeling this wouldnt happen so called Seat HQ - Was advised my car is at UK Port, not even scheduled for delivery.

Understand you frustration. I am realizing the built in absurdity of a process where the party you deal with in making a major purchase have no say in the delivery of the thing you are buying.

Also, those of us with week 9/ early week 10 builds are also discovering first hand the bottlenecks along the way.

Its crazy it really is - just hate how I have been given about 8 collection dates and all have fallen through it is just beyond me that there is such a breakdown in communication. Drafting my complaint letter already haha

At this stage I'm just grateful I'm not buying a house. I have a recurring nightmare that when the car finally arrives someone else will like it, and I'll have to stump up an extra grand to keep it.

The longer the wait, the more random the thoughts, I could go on.

Back on topic, I called yesterday, and was told that it was scheduled to be delivered today, but that could not be confirmed as actual delivery was up to the haulage company.

I'm about to call the dealer to see what they know, but in my case there is an extra point of potential delay. The dealer is part of a multi brand chain, with a central PDI centre, that the car has to get to, get through PDI, and then get sent on to my dealership.

Damn thats a shame - i really hope you get yours soon.

I will just have to wait and call Seat back on Monday as they said they will be able to give me a better idea with things then.

Not sure if its a Sheerness / Tyne difference but I also had a call this morning from the dealer saying that my Week 11 build is due to be delivered to them tomorrow (28th).
Same details as Excalpino with shipments so it looks like they are able to turn around the cars quicker at Tyne.
Am hoping to call in first thing on Saturday to see he car and sign paperwork then collect Monday afternoon (31st) :D
Not sure whether or not to believe this based on the recent postings though.

Yes, hopefully will get some pics up next week (all being well). Like I said I am trying not to get too excited until I know it's there.

Sluggcone, just been flicking back through this thread at your situation and I can see why you and some of the others are getting frustrated.

Was talking with my sister last night, she had a Skoda Octavia delivered via Sheerness last year and it took more than 2 weeks from docking to get delivered to the dealer.

When I ordered I imagined the long wait would be for the car to get to build stage and that once built the process of delivery etc would be quite quick. Seems like it can be just as long.

Hope you get some good news on Monday when you call them...

Yeah I hope so too - I have sent a letter to SEAT today having a winge about things as the dealership are just a bit of a joke - cant belive the give such a misleading view of what is happening.

Not planning on the letter getting me car quicker but maybe a free service :)

I hope I am not tempting fate by typing this. The dealer has just called to say the car has arrived, and has made an appointment for me to pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

Best of luck to the other Surprisers
