Good stuff mate! Btw where did you get your team dynamics from?? Been keeping an eye on the mk5 gti forum but not seen any![]()
Tried that mate but keep seeing ones with the wrong size. 5x112 isnt it??
Your wheels just look mint on your R
Yeah that's right 5x112, mine are offset of ET 45. Somebody on here as them in ET 35 and they look good.
ET 45 offset are going to be closest to your standard wheel offset.
Cheers, I wasn't 100% sure at first but now I love them. But when the tyres are gone they will be my summer and trackday wheels. I would like another set with normal tyres on for the rest of the time but I have loads more I want to do first.
whats the difference between 45 and 35?? Does 35 mean theres a bigger gap between the caliper and the wheel?
hahah I know the feeling mate, so much I want to buy but need to take my time and not skint myself. Plus I will get bored if I do everything straight away. I am pretty much happy with the cars power, I just want to improve the handling now.
Keep looking at getting a BBK but I was quite impressed when I had to slam me brakes on when I was pushing on the other day...but I dunno if going on the track will be a different story?
The lower the number of the offset the more they stick out from the wheel arch. Offset is measures from the hub to the middle of the wheel.
My standard R wheels are ET 51 and TD's are 45 so stick out 6mm more than standard.
Having the 3mm spacer on the front of mine is like having ET42 on the front of my car.
Does that help at all?
If you do bits at a time rather than everything at once you get to see the difference each part does. If you done everything at once you would notice but not know how each part changed the car.
If your happy with standard brakes just uprated the discs and pads when they needed renewed. Standard brake discs and pads on the track I think you would get brake fade fairly quickly if you were pushing hard.
yes mate I understand that cheers hahaha, but if I do find some decent ones, I will still need you to double check for me that they are going to fitlol!
Don't bother with bigger brakes - just pads/fluid/discs. They'll slow you down anyway - don't want extra unsprung weight! Although don't you drive like a gran anyway![]()
The standard brakes on the Cupra are really heavy the AKS BBK I have on my car are actually lighter in weight that the standard set up. Can't remember how much by but I could find out if your interested.
Hmm maybe. The only reason I'd put big brakes on is the looks, and even then I wouldn't be shelling out a lot for them! Never exceeded the capabilities of the standard ones and they've had abuse!

Just cos something is bigger it doesn't make it heavier lol![]()
Hmm maybe???
I didn't think the standard brakes were up to much, I came from AP 4pot brakes with Ferodo DS2500 pads on my Ibiza Cupra which were brilliant brakes. Driving my Leon Cupra R for the 1st time I thought it lacked a bit of braking power so BBK it was, and what difference it made.
