Wouldn't really say the ED30 is that limited like, see loads of them about. Obv not as common a normal GTI, but they're not exactly rare. For a cupra that age with those miles it'd be around 9-10k

It might be a limited edition the VW but there is actually a lot less LCR's registered in the uk.

328 LCR's and 2.1k Ed30, LCR is a hell of a lot rarer.

I wasn't talking about limited in terms of numbers made, more the fact that a VW with "limited edition" strapped in the name somewhere will obviously command a higher premium, and therefore resale value will be much better. Very interesting figures on the how many left though!

The "limited edition" status has nowt to do with the premium. It has better wheels, bigger turbo, side skirts etc etc compared to the normal gti

That's why it is more.

Surely it does have something to do with its premium or it would be about the same price as the Cupra being effectively the same car?
Seeing as normal GTIs can be had for as little as 5k for right dogs?

Could you fully trust a modified car though? There'll always be that thought that it's been driven incredibly hard a lot of the time. I'd be always feeling like something's about to break or stop at any moment. Maybe that's just my paranoia

Just the badge, only reason why it's more than a cupra. Nicer interior....well, I dunno if I'm keen on the tartan seats lol

The reason there's so many cheap GTIs is because they're so common and they started making them in 05 in the MK5 platform

I imagine i'd feel the same if i'm honest. I've loved starting from scratch on my Mk1 LCR and getting her to where she is now!

I can see where you're coming from, but a highly maintained modified car that gets driven fast everywhere will be more reliable than a neglected standard car that still gets hammered everywhere

Yeah i'm not that keen on the tartan but they'd probs be retrimmed. Same as i'm not overly keen on the cloth seats in a Cupra but hey ho. Got to make some sacrifices

Well I dunno then lol

Useless! Haha. Just kidding i'm just hard to please I suppose. It's nice to have so many responses, and nice to have a discussion thread with out some :censored: mugging people off and giving stupid sarcastic comments for once! :worship:

Cupra R leather seats are better than the Cupra cloth seats.

Oh yes definitely! Still cannot believe they didn't come heated as standard on the flagship model and even more shocked it wasn't an option :banghead2 especially when it's standard on the the other K04 charged cars!

TBH I don't want to sell it, I love it

But I love the MK3 aswell.. will be a sad day when it goes.. as was getting rid of my FR TDI
