Can anyone tell me if it is essential to have a HPFP fitted to go stage 1+ on a Cupra R or would the standard pump be adequate enough. Induction would be fitted but that's all. Have decided that APR at Awesome GTI is what I'd like to do despite PSI Revo dealer only being 3 miles from me.

I don't think the stock one is up to the job hence why it's on the list of mods required for the upgrade.

Yeah I did see that on their site, but I was wondering as Revo offer stage 2 with just minimal mods such as downpipe, de/sports cat and CAI and I thought that APR's 1+ may be the equivalent if you see where I'm coming from?

Apr stage 2 just requires downpipe as well ???

Revo/apr stage 2+ consists of downpipe, intake and hpfp

So it's a mix of stage 2 and stage 1+

Hope that helps.

APR 1+ requires a hpfp. In some respects it is a better package than stage 2. With intake APR quote 335bhp but that's only only half the story, the increased mid-range due to the hpfp is the big advantage over stage 2.

I've been running stage 1+ since changing from Shark stage 1 and there is a marked difference - well worth it in my opinion.

I'm confused though as as Richie stated, stage 2 only requires a DP , but the stage below requires an uprated pump????

Stage 1+ is a give away lol.

I was confused by it as well mate, but is as simple as I said and as simple as what it says on the apr website

Stage 1+ needs hpfp
Stage 2 needs Downpipe
Stage 2+ is a combination of BOTH

I think I understand where the confusion is though, you would expect (or at least I would) stage 2 to need everything that stage 1+ does and maybe more, but it doesn't.

Stage 1+ needs HPFP but stage 2 makes no mention, for me it would be logical that if stage 1+ needed HPFP then stage 2 would also require that to be fitted.

Nice one Mr, you can see why it comes across a little confusing though ay?

I know exactly what you're saying, I had the same confusion before lol

It shouldn't be labelled like that, should be different!

What he said....that's how my grey matter logic'd it

Should be:

Stage 1 - remap
Stage 1+ is hpfp OR downpipe
Stage 2 is hpfp AND downpipe
Stage 2+ cai downpipe and hpfp

(Just an example but u get what I mean)

Stage 1+ gives more power than stage 2 as well lol.....so that doesn't help with the confusion!

Yeah exactly, it is a bit backward isn't it lol

Glad it's not just me then, that's why I initially wondered if the requirement of the pump for 1+ was just a sales tactic on the website and not essential.
