I just know I'm going to break something...... No wiring gurus on here know where the cables for this device go?
Surely it is fused. It has to be
It looks like it's fuse 1 in the dashboard but that also controls a dozen other systems including the ECU.
Only a slight one, it'll make it a lot quieter but a little slower, depends how fast you can push it.

Have you done it the same way as me?
Interested to hear your views on that process when you're done mate...
Well it's all back together and looks ok. First I tried to unplug it by lifting plastic rain cover, but couldn't do it, so followed your method. Managed to get metal bit out with a bit of wiggling , disconnected sound thingy taped plug up and cable tied out of the way. Refitting was a real ball ache, I took the felt bit off (5 plastic nuts) to make it easier, it seems to be the soundactor that makes it so difficult, with hindsight I wish I'd took the bloody thing off altogether! Got it back on eventually, seems to line up as weather-strip went on ok. Refitted felt to bulkhead just got to go and try it now. Did it solo and if I can, anyone canthanks for pics, a good guide!
I might look at putting a switch on it ( if I can work out a route into car ) later on.

How do u think the car sounds then?
He's out driving it lol
Just got back from test drive. You can really tell the difference (remember mine's standard). Will take some getting used to, you don't think you are going as fast till you see speedo. Well worth doing imho. Will be interesting to see what its like on a decent run, compared to the Passat at 70 () Leon was always noisier, I realise it probably still will be due to tyres etc but always felt like there was a 'drone' ( I did check without GF, it wasn't her) I'd put it down to tyre/wheel combo now I'm not so sure.
I would think that anyone with a modified motor ( exhaust, induction) would notice s bigger difference. Try it mate, it's fairly easy will take about an hour.
Superb! Enjoy the real sound of your car!
Shall I add removal of the felt to the guide to make it easier to refit, do you think?
