Hi all.....i changed my oil 4000 miles ago with Quantum Long Life III 5w30 synthetic. I am planning to change it at 5000 miles but am wondering if i am wasting my money doing it so soon. I wonder how long Longlife really means....
Car is 20vt Toledo Stage 1.

Really all depends on time and type of use, but no your not wasting your time, used to change mine every 5K, you could use a better quality oil (Motul, Millers or Shell) and cover more miles in between changing..

shell helix oil is very good on diesels and keeps the insides nice and clean for 10k servicing. but I don't rate it much on petrols tho asseems to coke up easily with petrols but then that might be the 20k long life interval

I run shell helix in my pd150 and rate it highly.

I use the normal quantum on mine 5w 40. Audi use longlife and from what I've seen it seems cars that have been on longlife services have suffered from oil pickup pipe blockage

Well ive just spotted some Castrol Edge on Ebay.....5 litres for a smidge over £30 for 5w30.I think i will give it a try....

Quantum 5w30 on stage1 lcr is the same as castrol edge used it for years great oil, but change it reg if you like as it can't do any harm!!
