Must admit I'm pretty impressed with the Evoms as well mate. I suppose going from standard to open cone is never going to fail to impress. Fitted mine yesterday, well happy :)

When I fitted my Neuspeed to my LCR I thought wow....

A year down the line I swapped Neuspeed for REVO Ceramic and instantly could tell the difference!

Are you guys gonna make the software change to go with the intake then?....

always gonna be R-T.e.c.h

i dont really rate revo as had bad experiences with one of there maps on my old mk4 1.8T and APR are over priced.

For you maybe but Ive see things from the other side if the coin more than a few times, folk switching from nikis maps because of strange ecu faults so they make the change for a more reliable software version.

Lots if people have issues with different tuners.

I've heard negative things about all the popular tuning companies. I mix with a lot of people who drive different marques from the vw group. Everyone has their favourite or their reason to change software for what ever reason.
For some it's how the car performs afterwards, some have major issues and they get swept off by the dealer/file producers where as others will endeavour to rectify these issues.

I've no doubt that mr Gower knows exactly what he's doing, I'm a fan. I follow him on Facebook and I really like his TiV map strategy BUT I've flashed over more if his files than any from any other tuner. Not a lot mind but the people who had already a) travelled all that way to him and b) paid good money were not happy for one or a number of reasons, so they switched. That's not just limited to Revo I've known people swap to APR GIAG and other custom tuners files too.

its just a bit strange as every other forum ive been on recomend nikki for mapping on anything vag and it seems the revo, apr, custom code dealers all try make you some kind of lies to try sway you towards them.

Im sure nikki would take the pepsi challange with any of these tuners.

Depends who you talk to and how big their balls are. I hear most of the bad press on a face to face basis because Some people are affraid of legal proceeding arising from slander brought forward on forums, some people are happy to sling mud over very petty issues. I haven't any issues with any of the aforementioned tuning companies. I think they all do a great job and fight hard to out do each other, each has their own signature piece/s of software that's better than the others but You can never completely satisfy everyone.
They all have their fans and their closet haters.

Has anybody ever documented their reasons for switching, what the issues were etc? any links? I'm curious as you rarely (if ever) hear a bad word about Niki or his company/work ethic/maps etc.

Silly software flaws like loosing power and engine light coming on after driving for some time then no faults stored when checked, Random fault codes appearing despite the component being mapped out or not even being present on that particular engine from the factory and misfires re-occurring for no obvious reason. Mainly on the 1.8t platform.

2 had Revo installed on and one flashed to stock and sold the car.

The "Issue" with his maps is they are built for the hardware on the car on the time, change hardware and you really need to go back to him to update it

with the likes of APR Revo Giac the maps have very good adoptions and can cater for a wide variety of mods, maybe not getting 100% out of each extra mod but not having to worry about going back and get re tuned

Not taking anything away from Nikki thou he is very good at what he does

I see your point about people adding more parts that could potentially effect the map but one chap (who's car went into limp mode, EML on, no codes) had the issue in his way home to Manchester after a custom stage 2, from the first day. He was told to post the ecu back, he did and the fault persisted so he switched software.

I agree he is good, never knocked his abilities just pointing out that all tuners have issues and unhappy customers, it's just the nature of the trade.
