New Cupra, few questions...

Alright lads,

Was on here a few months ago asking what could be done about the pre-facelift interior in the mk2 Leon as it sorely let the car down - I got a good few responses, decided then it was best to stretch my budget to the facelift model in terms of having a better cabin - which is what I've done!

I'm now waiting on a 2010 facelift Cupra being delivered which is ideal. I'll get photos up when it comes, but in the mean time I have a few (probably naive questions)..

- This is the 'facelift' model, however, I've read online you can only have those wee 'tick' style read lights with the facelift boot? Will I have the right boot for this? As the current lights are the little circle lights. I think both are smart, but exploring options. I'm wondering if this is the 'facelift' people are talking about or if there was another one closer to the end?

- Anyone know a link to a tutorial for removing the rear wiper? I've done this pretty much on all my cars and it's been as simple as taking the trim off the inside and unscrewing the motor, but clips positioning/grommit sizes would be magic.

- I've read about the cam follower issues as well as the eating oil like nobody's business issue too, the car will be going for a major service when I get it anyway where I'll be looking to replace this cam follower to be on the safe side, how much roughly are we talking to replace one of these (parts & labour)?

- Any idea what mileage the cam belt should be done at on these Leons? My current car is an Astra and their 100,000 so it's easy to forget all about these things!

- In terms of bulbs, are these the CANBUS system too? Any links to sidelight bulbs/recommended HID kits are welcome! The car has projector headlights but unsure of the bulbs in there right now.

- With regards to HEKO's, I'm assuming all mk 2 Leon's are the same ergo any one's will do when shopping around?

Cheers lads

Cam follower is £25 for the part IIRC and should be 30 mins labour

In regards to the tick lights, you should be able to do this because yours is the facelift model

Cambelt is "4 years or 120,000" miles in the book but apparently it is now 5 years

Magic dude, thanks for the information. I'll get the cambelt done next month, PC alloys/hekos/springs/service on the agenda this month :) cannot wait.

Rear wiper removal is easy:

1.unbolt rear wiper assembly.
2. pull off the black palstic cover in boot
3. unbolt motor.
4.block up water pipe
5. fit bung.

As above the Cam follower is £25 roughly, but you may aswell save yourself the money and change it yourself, it's a piece of piss to do, and takes about 15 minutes to do.

Tutorial on how to do so below:

Superb guys. Thanks for the help [B)]

Was going to suggest that he did it himself butty, but I didnt know how competent he was, considering he asked how much for labour lol

Perfectly valid question mate - I included parts & labour in the question incase someone then asked me whether I meant parts or labour. ;)

The plan as per original post was to have it done at the same time as the service, it looks relatively straight forward though, we'll see what happens :)
