Hi guys,

I've a Leon fr 1.8 tsi SC, and until now it has been lots of fun, however after reading several threads related with doors rattles, I got the idea that there is an TPI for it. Case affirmative how can I verify if my car has one for it without asking the dealer?

The other dough is related with the led card door light. Can any body put here some picks taken during the night with the light dimming set to the max, specially with the white one (normal on the driving options). Mine is working but I do think it's too soft, and barely notice even on a totally dark environment.
And when we compare it with this;

Please share all your comments and thoughts about it! Thanks in advance.

best regards! Luís

I didn't even realize this LED door strip was a feature of my car until I'd owned it a couple of weeks, it's so faint it's hardly noticeable.

Probably are like mines, but the true is that I saw in the other day (on the motor way, during a traffic jam) another Leon and I was able to compare it. The other car was much more likely to what we can see on the video from the original post.
I already try to talk with the dealer and the first answer was that they didn't had/have a similar car to compare :(. That's why I'm doing now some homework to raise a proper complain about it and have this sorted.

The LED is faint on mine as well when set to max brightness, it's more noticeable when red. They will show up brighter in videos and photo's taken at night due to the exposure. The Seat Promo video is just overdone.

Maybe, I know that about the promo video, but as I saw something similar to it on the real world (it was also an ST, like the one on the video), that's why I'm asking. As soon as I can I'll add a pick from mine.
At the moment I think that the light or is miss assembled or it belongs to a faulty stock, and the newer versions may have this corrected.

That's a promotional video made on a computer and it is not a real life filming. You can actually adjust the intensity of the lights from the computer.

Yes, I know that. But I want to be sure and have something to compare with, because I didn't found much on the net to do so.

Here is mine, didnt want to take the DSLR down to the car so hopefully phone pic will do.

Thank you so much for your help. I think this proves my point and I'll address this with the dealer :handbags:.
Here are a couple of picks taken from mine inside the garage (so with less external light than yours);

Taken from a phone. I'll try to get later some better images.

Also, your car looks like the other one that I've spotted on the motor way.

I would say yours are defo duff. Mine are quite bright in red and not so bad in white. Yes they are not as noticeable in built up areas but elsewhere they are fine. Get it booked in fella.
There is a TPI for the door cards but you have to TELL the dealer. Mine is a July 2013 car and I've just had the TPI done.

PS; I have the 1.8tsi FR SC too and its one of the sweetest cars I've had IMO

I've asked for the TPI number because as they will be messing around with the doors, they could do all jobs in one row.
About the lights issue, that's what I'll do for sure. I´ll start to formalize by mail with all the information gathered around here and then I'll see how it goes :whistle:.

Mine are like Seastormer's.

Having said that, the driver's door developed a fault after a while and the dealer changed the whole card for me.

If you had issues with your dealer, perhaps you can try another one? Good luck!

Yeap, I've been talking with the dealer after emailing with all data gathered here and they say that what's normal is having the bright light. As so, now I'm waiting for their call to schedule the repair. As soon as I have some news, I'll update this thread. Thanks all for the great help on this ☺!
