Brake disks rusty

whilst i would pay good money to see someone paint their actual discs, have a closer look at your wheels and the photos above, its the centre hub surface we're talking about, if yours isnt rusty yet it will be in about a week or two. Annoyingly the likes of Merc paint them from factory, after speaking to an old merc mechanic this came about due to soooooo many old fuzzy duddys complaining to merc about the rust and getting them done after under warranty, no such joy with the VAG however they will just tell you to go ya self

ah haha ok thanks. might consider it at some point soon then. this is the newest car i've ever bought so it kind broke my heart that it looked a bit manky after just a week of having it

Well at least we have a perfect example of how not to do it, that much paint would probably glaze your pads under heat and it'd be like braking with a pair of ice cubes

Might give this a bash later on when it's nicer weather and I am more inclined to jack the car and remove wheels! Just won't be doing the all red look above!!! Yikes!

I wonder if they thought to rotate the disc to paint the part hidden by the caliper and pads, after all no one likes a half finished job
