Hi people after having tried the different driving modes i have to ask.....is there a power difference between the modes or just throttle response/ heavier steering?
just throttle response/ heavier steering?
This. Plus red interior LED's in the door cards and the sound actuator is activated.
the red LED's add at least 30bhp
Red has been scientifically proven to be the fastest colour known to man. Fact*
*not strictly accurate or indeed factual.

It's all throttle mapping and engine response, Eco mode dulls the throttle response and overall engine performance such as torque figures in conjunction with RPM. Sport puts more emphasise and asks for more from the engine. In short it should be more powerful in Sport mode, oh and the interior lights definitely add BHP!

I think it's the throttle not the engine.
So the red led interior lights add 30bhp![]()
Or maybe they appear red because of red shift, really they don't change.![]()
that is wasted here, dude
on my cupra i honestly can't tell the difference between any of the modes. other than the red led's and the aktuator and the steering wheel becoming rather stiffer in cupra mode. in terms of power etc, nothing.
i'd love to see some dyno results. out of everyone who has had their mk3 on a dyno, i'm very surprised noone seems to have tested the power output etc of each mode. if only to put to bed this very oft asked question
you can notice it on the cupra if you setup individual mode for eco and drive its a lot more sluggish especially with acc on. if you stamp on it, it will go in any mode but if you drive more sedate you will notice it.
Eco is lame but has a purpose I suppose. I put mine in Eco to save some fuel but I soon switch back to comfort.
