Can anyone recommend good gearbox oil and how much litres would I need for Seat Leon 1.9TDI?

I have been using Amsoil without any issues for several years - recommended.
Regarding the type / liters these information should be in your manual but for sure your local service repair know this...

I am not allowed to post any links yet but Amsoil.com will definitely help :)

2.0 litres for the 02J 5-speed box. Is this a TDI 90? If so you will originally have had a non-synthetic single-weight Hypoid 75W oil, which shouldn't be mixed with the synthetic oil that all the other TDI gearboxes have. The spec you need is API GL4 SAE 75W90 (Syntheic, high performance), at least that's what it says in the book...

Its a 1.9 TDI Stylance model, 5 speed manual

Ah, the later model 77 kW/103 BHP engine then, from the look of it. That has an 0A4 gearbox.

The oil spec search refers first to a VAG part number G 052 512 A2, which you should look for on the side of the oil container. Further searching shows that it is an API GL-4 oil, 75W, Fully synthetic.

Cross-referencing with Opie Oils pages, the part number links to the specification TL 525 12 for which they carry the Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID FE SAE 75W

You'll need 2 litres, the fill quantity is 1.8 to 1.9.

That was a lot of work for a simple question, wasn't it? :)
