new clutch won't disengage and sticky clutch pedal

Had a new clutch out in a couple of thousand miles ago and now it won't disengage and let me select gears at all at times. The clutch pedal also sticks on the way back up and then pops up the rest of the way a second later .Started acting up yesterday and if your foot rests on the clutch pedal it feels like mini speed bumps under your foot

Slave cylinder or paddle thrown ?

A new slave cylinder is on the list of bits changed asking with the flywheel and clutch bits

Sorry I meant new release bearing was fitted. Once I somehow managed to get the car onto the drive at home I had the clutch pedal right to the floor and it was still trying to pull forward slowly.

Nothing seems to be leaking that i can see.

I'd try bleeding it again first, maybe it wasn't bled properly and some air has worked it's way around.

Check your break/clutch fluid, when I had mine done the seal wasn't put on properly, ended up with seal coming off and no fluid

Had to get fluid, seal and bleed again

Sounds like the slave cylinder seal inside the box is gone. Had the same issue on my VRS.

Managed to get it to the garage this morning to let them work it out but to get a gear i did have to pump the clutch pedal 8 to 10 times to then struggle to get into gear.

When it started the bite point went from a inch or two from the carpet to barely 5mm to 1cm from the carpet.

Will post back what they say when i get a call from them.

Bit off topic mate but did they sort that noise it was making after your cambelt change?

Was it a noisy idler?

Yeah in the end they had to re tighten the belt as it was rubbing against the housing and I think change a pulley as well.

Faulty output shaft of the gearbox. Excess play caused the release bearing to go.

FFS why does stuff always have to break on my car I thought being a VW/Audi underneath it would be reliable not i would say Citroens and Alfa Romeos are more reliable than Leons

I can assure you alfa are not more reliable, just Google m32 gearboxes and you will see!

I have the exact same car as you. Same colour and year. I feel for you mate, i really do. Nothing worse than when your car keeps acting up.

Like you said, it may be down to a hard life early on, but it shouldn't be. Cars are meant to be driven.

Still waiting to get my car back . After pressing them I found out that even though they are in Newport they sent my gearbox to a place by Birmingham to get the repair done. Just want the car back and avoid the place in future now
