• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
Leaves and other muck get into the scuttle area and under the batery, this blocks the rain drain holes and lets the rain drain into the car.

Do a search, there is a thread about it along with the scuttle covers modification.

When i had i look at the car i found a pond in the back driver side footwell and then in drivers footwell???!!! not happy!! may be the cause of a lack of bluetooth if its being swimming around!! any suggestions on where the water came from??

Hi, this sounds horrendous. Unless you know that you have left a window open in error, then that car should go back to the dealer (I gather it is new?). Water ingress on the Audi A4 is well documented and can lead to very expensive problems. Generally the problem is the area under the battery where there are drains which can get blocked by leaves etc, but if your car is new then I would not be impressed....Julian...ST143 SE.

the cars a 2009 st sport only had it 3 weeks previously demo car for dealer! No windows open! Extracted approx 3 pints of water! Don't think My local dealer really want's to see the car as i didn't buy it with them! Awaiting a call to book it in somewhat reluctantly!

Please keep us posted. The reason I got rid of my last car, a Passat, was due to this problem:(

Update!!!
Had the car back today after contacting them over the last week to which they discovered that a rubber grommit was missing from under the drivers arch. This led to the bluetooth ecu being drowned!!

Matting all dried out, new bluetooth ecu and cabling from ecu as water had corroded the cables and job is a good one!!! Great job too!!

I'm having similar problems with my bluetooth. When I got the car I had an HTC Wildfire which worked fine and held a connection to the bluetooth in the car, but a few months ago I bought myself an HTC Desire and now once connected via bluetooth it will only hold that connection for around a minute then drop the connection. I haven't tried any other phones since but pretty sure its my current phone. It will usually maintain a connection if I'm on a call but occasionally drops it during

I've managed (somehow) to fix the problem I was having with not being able to display the phonebook in the dash display.

I had another problem with my Deisre HD, where-by I couldn't send a text to certain numbers. After a quick google, it appears that the DHD uses the call-history to find the phone-number for 'contact' you want to send the text to, and the fix is to clear the call-history, so that the phone has to use the actual phone-book to find the number. I did this to fix this problem, and it sured the problem.

I'm not sure if it's coincidence, or not, but the bluetooth (phonebook) connection through the car now works to!!! ;)

So, if you've got the same problem with not being able to able to view the phonebook on the dash-display, try clearing the call history on the phone..... ;)

I've had a repeat occurance this morning of the "please wait....." message when trying to call-up the phonebook on the dash-display.

I couldn't remember what I did to cure it last time, but re-reading my above post, I'm going to pop out and try it now...... will report back asap ;)

 Fixed

Hi Mate I know it has been a while, I seem to be having exactly the same issue, no bluetooth and the 'mode' button aswell as the SDS button don't appear to be responding!
How much did the repair cost you? and after it was all repaired any other issues crop up?

Thanks in advance!

Hi the repair didn't cost me anything as it was completed under warranty!! It was more labour intensive than cost of parts as they pulled out the floor matting and all components needed to remove this. They did have to replace some part of the Bluetooth loom as water was seeping up the sheaths of the cable causing corrosion. No others issues since 4 years on!!

Hi thanks for the quick reply!

Did they give a cost breakdown if it was out of warranty? How long did the actual repair take?
Unfortunately mine is out of warranty which only ran out last June! But looks like the same will need to be done to repair as water was in both footwells just like yours! Just trying to get some indication of cost so can be prepared!:cry:

On another note can anyone advise if the exeo should do a visual display of the reverse parking in the Media System? And also what's the Velcro straps for in the boot? I have seen some pictures which seem to have two tube like things but can't see a description of what they are?
I have the SE Tech model 2012

The repair took about a week by the time they sought approval from seat for the warranty work and also dried the matts and refitted....no break down on costs just a signature to say they had completed the work....
Ring your local dealer explain what's occurring and they should be able to give an estimate as per time to remove and explore etc

I called the dealers, they just said will need to bring in for diagnostics which will cost over £70! then will advise what needs to be done and how much they will sting me for!!

I assume its the saloon you have. The straps are for two emergency warning triangles that are required by law in spain. I think they come included with the car in spain and the netherlands, but not here. The ST has a little cupboard for them in the boot door.

Hi yes it's the saloon, thanks for the info!
So anyone got visual display for the reverse parking sensors? I understand that some do have it? Any ideas which models or is there a way to enable it?

bluetooth "please wait"

after suffering from the "please wait" problem for the past two months I had tried everything , resetting the phone unpairing pairing removing phone battery, it would list the phone book only very occasionally. i could call through the bluetooth if i dialled from my phone and could receive calls also.
Found this thread and cleared my call logs on the phone and immediately the phone book is listed again without the "please wait". Only been two days but feeling hopeful.
Phone is a samsung S4
