Hi guys,
Fitted a facelift tailgate to my 56 reg seat leon the weekend.
Had a few troubles with the wiring but got there in the end, all the lights, lock, wiper working fine.

The issue I'm having is with the gas struts that hold up the tailgate. I didn't get any struts with the FL tailgate so fitted the original ones that were on my car, however it seems the bracket for the struts is hitting the boot lid when coming to close it so it doesn't shut properly.

I've removed the struts for the meanwhile and was wondering if the FL tailgate struts are different or does the bracket just need changing/modifying?

Had a look on a few other threads and there was mention of the wiring being different but nothing about the struts.

Any help is much appreciated

Yes they are different, just get some off ebay, topran ones are cheap

Ok cheers

Is there any difference between pre FL and FL mounting bracket? As all the struts I've seen on ebay are without the bracket?

Turns out the struts are actually the same. Just the mounting brackets are different. (Thanks to Rodie)

Ordered from TPS and fitted up nicely :)
