How to replace the boot struts on a MK3 Leon ST

Some jobs can easily be done by yourself and replacing the boot struts is an easy one for everyone. Save yourself some money, order the boot struts online and replace them within 5-10 minutes.

Extension force: 540N
Length: 589 mm

Tools needed:
- Flathead screwdriver (or angled pick)
- Optional: Rag for cleaning
- Optional: ceramic grease for ball mounts

General steps:
- Open boot
- Insert flathead into slot and lift the retaining clip
- Pull the boot strut from the tailgate
- Insert flathead into slot and lift the retaining clip
- Pull the boot strut from the car
- Use your head to support the boot
- Optional: clean the ball mounts with the rag
- Optional: grease the ball mounts with ceramic grease
- Click boot strut into place on both sides
- Repeat steps for other side
