Hi,

I'm picking up a 13 plate SC FR 2.0 150 tomorrow. I love the car to bits and can't wait to drive it without bring harassed by a salesman!

One question though I had a nosey at a demo 65 plate FR sitting in the show room and I noted the steering wheel seemed to be a bit chunkier with softer leather just generally felt a nicer wheel.

Is there anywhere these can be bought and are they an easy enough to swap out? Also How much is it gonna hurt my wallet ?

Spoke to the local dealership re this, apparently there are different mountings, connections and airbag in the wheel and retrofitting it isnt possible apparently

In my experience dealers either talk tosh for the sake of it or don't actually know what they're talking about, and either could be the case here.

The mounting is identical, the wheel connects to the same splined shaft as the previous version in the early cars. I can't guarantee that the airbag connector hasn't changed but I very much doubt they would change the wiring loom for the sake of it so it's probably identical to the old one too.

Sent from my piece of shite iPhone - according to Muz.

They're full of ****:

1. Someone on here has already retrofitted it themselves (SEAT Tech, IIRC) and it took around 30 mins.
2. Do you really think SEAT will design and reengineer the steering column/boss just to fit a nappa leather wheel? Not a good business model is it?
