I used Towtrust for one of their detachable bars after seeing one at the NEC. Fitted with dedicated Westfalia electrics and the genuine Seat blanking plate. My car didn't have the towbar prep electrics though. Very happy with everything and would highly recommend them.

I noticed that yours and Conal's cut doesn't seem to come past the crease in the bumper. The Witter instructions (on pfjones) show cut being 100mm from edge and coming over the crease. If yours is that towbar I'm wondering how short a cut you can get away with.
Can you humour me and measure the distance your cut is from the bottom edge?
Conal if you could check I would appreciate it.
I had a look at the instructions for the Westfalia (they look pretty comprehensive and the cut, although described as hidden, uses the same cover issued by Seat) I'm thinking the Westfalia might be the OEM? In which case I'm thinking Witter is definite way to go.
Hi, Firstly I have just got my paperwork out and my Witter detachable bar is part umber SA21AQ. I bought my own harness from my dealer and the towbar fitters plugged that into the pre-wired module in the boot. Search my other posts for details and part numbers on that.
Next, I have been under the back of the car and have measured the depth of the bumper cut. From the lip at the back measuring towards the crease in the bumper the cut is about 61/62 mm. This is about 14mm from the crease and in my opinion is about the bare minimum that you can get away with. Any smaller and you would really struggle to swing the 13 pin socket down or fit the blanking plate into the tow ball socket when the ball is detached.
I have taken a photo of this with a steel ruler next to the cutout and would be happy to forward it if you could PM your email address to me. I do not have the facility to put it here on the forum but would be quite happy for anyone else to do so.

I was using laptop last night and hit a wall when trying to post the pic, but remembered I'd been able to easily when using the iPad. So Conal for future reference, if you have a phone or tablet, installing Tapatalk app allows you easily post pics without the hosting malarkey. Just have the image saved on your device (it'll already be there if you use device to take pic) then hit the little plus sign to the left when writing message, then landscape icon to select pic. Sounds convoluted after typing that out but it is, in the words of the meerkat, simples!
I've found a few local fitters who deal with Witter and have requested quotes so I'll check back in with how I get on.

The factory cover on my FR ST comes with a "cage" which not only dictates pretty much where the cover will fit (given the profile) and the size of the cut out. Shame they didn't bond it quite right to the inside of the bumper in the first place, hence had to go back to them. As a result, they'd obviously been trying to get the quarter turn screws to engage with the use of a pair of pliers (it won't), so resprayed the cover. Shame they didn't get the shade right - or the second one they sent either.
Ah well - it only shows up when the car is clean which isn't that often in this weather!
