Hey folks

This is my first post so be gentle. I need to replace my battery in my Ibiza(58 plate). I am quite confident in replacing a battery however there is a plastic plate on top of the + connector that I can't seem to figure out how to remove to allow me to get the battery out.

Any ideas?

remove the negative terminal first.

loosen the positive terminal and then.

push down each side, and a little to the side, and then up

don't force it, or you will break it like the guy that changed mine did... it should come off very easy, if it isn't coming off you are doing something wrong!

when installing the new battery it is in the reverse order, first positive and then negative.

removing

1 - Unscrew and remove negative terminal
2 - Unscrew positive terminal
3 - do that on the video (look, you have to push it down with one finger and remove with the other) both sides and pull the fusebox out off the battery.

installing

1 - put positive terminal
2 - fit the fusebox untill you hear a click on both sides like in the video.
3 - screw positive terminal
4 - install and screw negative terminal

Very important. Don't overtight the bolts, just enough so the terminals can't move and are tight.
