Spare / Back up key, cheapest options?

Hi,

I only have one key (remote key) for my 06 Leon FR and have been quoted:

- £118 without remote (Seat dealer)
- £163 with a remote (Seat dealer)

I also tried Timpsons and they said £155 for a remote key. Anyone have any experience using Timpsons for a car key?

Does anyone know of a cheaper way to get one made?

Don't really care too much about the remote as I have one on my current key, just need a back up key in case I lose the one I have.

There is a guy on Facebook who will cut n code a flip key for about £50 . I was going to try and organize a group buy for the bloke to come up to Gateshead. If you get enough folk he'll knock his travel expenses off the bill. He does the Bentley style flip keys for £80
