Yea my point is the larger screen in the cupra should be standard.

Although as things are different here our opinions will vary. But I am glad you enjoy the cupra I was close to buying it but there where too many little things that put me off.

I thought you only get the larger satnav if you get the black edition, but with that you also get the black wheels, wing mirrors and red brake callipers so it's a bit more reasonable.

Unless you're on about buying a non-black edition and specifically spec'ing a bigger satnav? :confused:

the black edition i test drove didnt have the larger screen although i was one of the first to drive it in northern ireland so maybe it has been changed.

i just cant escape from the fact the it is 19k and isnt fully specd. irritates me. fully specd comes close to 20k

fully specd st2 comes out at 18.5k, on the other hand a fully specd polo gti comes out 22.9k

i just think the price is too high to the cupra they got that badly wrong

Ahhh fair enough - I spec'd a black edition with panaromic roof and rear sensors only and it came up to 20.4k which is extortionate to say the least, I could get a decent top-spec second hand S3 for that haha.

Thats my point, it is just crazy the extras are getting out of hand with the top of the line cars, ford will follow suit with their new ST whenever it arrives.

I sold my 2013 cupra a month ago and now own a fiesta ST. The ST is a better drivers car in every respect. I do, however, miss the exterior looks and bi-xenons on the cupra. If the steering is as light on the 1.8 as it was in the 1.4 twin charged, then you won't feel any connectivity with the road. Bought the ST brand new for 15.4k. Bargain.

Ive had my new cupra 6 weeks now and love it, cupra black in dynamic grey, pan roof, alcantara interior and ambient lighting payed 18k.

I very much doubt anyone has paid 19k, I image its closer to 16k with a bit of haggling. The interior of mine (fr) is great IMO, the tech pack was only £500 when i bought mine which included the bigger screen, sat nav and apple car play.

Regardless of haggling you can get 17k down further than 19k the point remains I love my FR too but if it listed at 19 I would want it to be better

Well add around £1500 for Bixenons that the Fiesta doesn't have (also can't have in the UK?) and the price is the same actually, I see no reason to complain about Cupra pricing. In addition the Cupra is 0,2 sec faster 0-62mph and has way more torque which should make it even more quicker at speeds above 62mph (autobahn fun).

Exterior = Cupra > ST
Interior = Cupra > ST
0-62 = Cupra > ST
Fun to drive = ST > Cupra
Pricing = ST > Cupra (For arguments sake)

Of course the above is my opinion only minus the 0-62 as that is a fact, I suppose it's all down to which of the above you personally prioritise when buying. Another aspect which I prefer with the Cupra is the rarity, yes it's still a mass produced car but how often do you see one on the road compared to an ST?

That's a good point about rarity but doesn't affect me as much. But as you said it's all preferences at the end of the day

agree with steering etc but ford interior is dreadful and it isn't any faster than the cupra. pros and cons to all
