Broken high-level brake light lens - anyone else?

I have the same issue, my light has gone. SEAT refuse to replace too. Just logged a case with them and they asked me to take the car back to Seat dealer.

Mine is 28K, 11 months old, but the light was broken along time ago, but was busy with other issues,
a month after I got the car the piston broke, they recon the engine,
last month I changed one tyre and find out that the shock was leaking, they replace just one without wheel alignment,
the pin from the key (that holds the metal part that goes in the ignition) fell off. SEAT don't cover keys, AT ALL, under warranty, even if they fell apart.
Technology pack is really slow, sometimes it can take 3-5 minutes before you can use something, they can not find nothing wrong.
Some times when you get into the car it squeaking (suspension) like is 30 years old banger on the rear end. They found nothing. It was doing that since new.
Bad window design, if you open the window slightly when is raining the water fall inside the car, on the window switches.
Very bad service from the company. But I am lucky... is a company car so I don't own the car. The lease company don't care either.
I have logged a case with SEAT about the light and they told me to take it back to dealer.
After all these, I enjoy to drive the car, I just been really unlucky with it. Only if SEAT had a proper customer service but these days no company have any customer service. Every one of them are more interested on profits and they slip on quality and customer service.

You might get it as it's less than 12 months old . I expect they will quote external forces at you. But they should by now be getting a pattern of failure.

Thread resurrection. Happy days, the stop-light on my ST has cracked too!
20K miles, two-and-a-half years old, but who knows how long it's been broken. Phone call to the dealer on Monday and I'll ask if Seat UK has changed their position on this fault at all. It's clearly a flaw in the design of the part.
To be honest, I don't care if I have to buy the thing. What I want to know is have they fixed the part so that the replacement will not snap too.
So, how do you get the light out? I have trim tools.
Anyone got a part number for it? Are the ones on the ST and hatch the same?

The way NOT to do it is how the stealer tried ie Remove from the inside.
The manual says to use a special tool from the outside and slide it between the bodywork and lens and it pops out as the tangs are released. 10 mins allowed in the manual.

Mine cracked when the car was only 5 months old, same time as the rear light clusters were cracking. Dealer knew about light cluster issue and that was warranty but they were not sure on high level brake light with the CS response suggesting it had been hit by something. I argued that if it had been hit then there would bodywork damage in the area.
Was all done at no cost to myself. I believe Seat CS allow the dealers a small allowance per vehicle to cover things like this that are not warrantied, as a good will thing.
They must have done that many of these now though that they realise there is a real issue.
The rear light clusters were like this to begin with, but as more and more cracked they realised there must be an issue, looked into it and found that they were being over-torqued at installation.

Once you have one you'll see that there are no bolts or screws. Only the tangs hold it in place.
By the time the dealer had removed mine from inside it was unrecognizable

I'll ask the dealer for a part number so that I can look for it elsewhere. might prove cheaper.
Interesting that the rear lights cracked because they were too tight. Good to know.
Nice one: 5F0 945 097. Had a look and I don't see many for sale. Used ones seem to go for about £25 but considering the nature of the failure I think I'd rather buy a new one.
I called the dealer this morning. The woman I spoke to said it was up to them whether or not it was covered by warranty, which I'm pretty sure is wrong, and they would have to examine it before they could do anything. I'm thinking 'It's snapped, what's to examine' but I've been here before so know it would be a waste of time trying the reason with her. I did ask her to call Seat UK to see what they said but she wouldn't.

Just noticed this on my car also. Still in warranty. Just about. So they did cover it under warranty for you Lykaios? I've got a small list of things for the dealer to sort now so I guess I'll add this to it.
