Also interested in feedback from someone who has used one, or the JB4 if available.

I've heard the jb4shop aftersales support is shocking. A few people i know had issues with BMW parts and they wern't interested in sorting out issues.

Couldn't comment, although when I enquired about a box a few months ago they got back to me very quickly....guess that's coz they didn't have my cash at that point!

DTUK box is the go to on the mk7 Golf R. Burger Motorsport/JB is the go to option for the M135i.

I've not had either box but had both cars and spent a fair bit of time on the forums. I've not seen many complaints about either.

The JB1 is the go to for the golf R boys too. Have a look on the massive thread on vw vortex.
I have a friend who has one. It's amazing. Puts out 357BHP 365lb/ft on the dyno. It is fully tunable too so he's got less boost around 3k rpm to help the life of his manual clutch.

He tells me the support he got from George at Burger motorsport direct was excellent.

Oh he's running less boost around 21psi rather than the 23psi of the Revo and apr.

Yep

Do they fit the 290?

A friend who has one fitted highly recommends it. The bonus being that unlike the DTUK box, when removed correctly (following having been installed correct try i.e. making sure the ECU is asleep before disconnecting leads from sockets) the JB1 isn't traceable on diagnostics. The fuelling will be out if you remove a DTUK box and the dealer hooks it up to the diagnostics, ergo warranty invalidated. My friend has it with the bluetooth connection and controls it from a cheap tablet he picked up at Tesco. Can change the boost, choose map where you can pick the increase in boost, or leave it in a map that spools up the boost as the revs rise via an algorithm (theres a specific map for DSG cars and manual cars, the DSG is higher torque) and for the child in us all it displays dials displaying stuff like RPM, boost pressure, GPS speed and you can pick what you see.
