Car Length In Front
Got myself wondering about how the traction control kicks in when accelerating in the Cupra.

In my previous cars it's always just seemed to be a lull in power, but in the Cupra it's quite a violent thud thud thud.

Just thinking as there is a squeak on occasion when going over speed bumps or car park ramps, it comes from behind the firewall, so not sure if it's suspension or engine mount related.

Just wondering if an engine mount or suspension bush has had it since the thud is quite harsh.

So what's it like if it cuts in when accelerating for you?

It is probably wheel hop you are hearing - not the traction control.. There are quite a few treads on the topic in here and how to eliminate/decrease the occurrence/violence hereof.

Ahh right, well I already have the Michelin PSS, will just have to see what it's like when it warms up and is dry.

Just posted about a bolt on that drastically reduces this very issue, IMHO it's the worse flaw of the Cupra.

Part is usually about £50 and referred to as a "Torque Arm insert", you can get them from multiple vendors using different materials such as polyurethene or aluminium, I have used both types and detailed my findings in the thread.
Can be fitted with a jack, a stand, 21mm socket and a torque wrench in under 15 minutes at home.

Cheers, read a few posts on here about them, but concerned about NVH with this car being the family car.

Honestly from the driver seat the change in NVH is barely noticeable, I only noticed because I was looking for it, it really is such a minor change. No-one who has sat in the passenger seat could tell even when I told them what was different.
I wouldn't tolerate it myself tbh if it was even remotely harsh as I'm not interested in turning my car in to a rock solid race car (I have a Caterham for that particular weekend fetish), in fact the DCC rarely goes into Cupra mode, that should help demonstrate how intolerant I am of harshness on a daily basis :)
Worse comes to the worst if you buy one and you or the other half can really tell the difference flog it on here or eBay with a bit off.
It really does improve the car no end and I don't think axle hop that aggressive will be doing any of your suspension components any favours.
