Personally don't like artificial noises in the cabin - but as has been pointed out intake and exhaust systems are tuned to make them sound "nice". Worst still, in my book, are sports exhaust systems which ape faulty carburation of the past and pour petrol down the exhaust where it pops and bangs as it hits the hot manifold.

those pops and bangs can do1 as far as im concerned.

a decent exhaust that gets the gas out as fast as possible with a decent map makes the car sound amazing. i love how mine sounds. :D

The soundaktor mimics induction noise rather than exhaust noise which is always a far nicer thing to listen to on an inline four engine. They can compliment each other of course, but I challenge anyone to find a better sounding exhaust on a flatplane inline four cylinder engine than the induction noise of a decent flatplane four cylinder vtec engine.

which vtec engine? b/k series?

i like the intake noise of a G60 with a few charger mods.
and for exhuast, i like my bocs exhuast nosie.

Either series. I think the exhaust on an inline four can only ever sound alright at best tbh. That doesn't include the crossplane crank of a Yamaha R1 or MT10 though, they sound awesome.

prefer a flat plane crank, but thats just opinion.
