Trouble after remap

Get it back to them! never heard of them though tbh and I have seen numerous threads throughout the years of people going to unheard of companies who offer "custom" tuning.

Yep. For something as serious as a remap I'll not even consider some unkown tuner. In Cambridge seems to be a lot of those fantastic tuners who started the activity overnight. I wiould avoid them like the plague.

That's good then, they should have no issue with sorting your problem out. If the car was running fine before the remap, and the only thing you have changed is the map, then I think you know the answer.
Quantum Tuning heard there "brand" batted around the web, basically some guy runs "Quantum Tuning" and sells files allover the world, the guys are simply flashing the files.
Get your money back and get to a decent VAG specialist.

thanks for your message... I've had this before on a couple of vehicles and each time it's been a different cause and never the map. As recently as lasts Friday i was called out to a garage to provide an egr solution on a LR Disco 3 that had the exact same symptoms as the egr valve was playing up. And a fortnight before that there was another LR vehicle where the crank sensor was playing up... Then there was a seat leon approx 4 years ago where it was a fuel pump, and a Morgan 4/4 which had poor quality fuel...
I'm confident it's not the map but without a garage looking at the vehicle in detail it's difficult for me to say what the root cause could be... Can I ask, is there a particular RPM range where this is happening? Under what driving have you noticed this? Have you had a diagnostic check done to see if there are any fault codes coming up?
I'll put your feedback up on our tuning forum to see if there is anything obvious others might suggest.

Aled,the car was absolutely fine before the remap,no issues at all,I'd rather have the original map put back on the car and a full refund given,I don't see why I should have the expense of having to pay out for a diagnostic check,and then have to pay out again for any work that might entail from that,possibly running into the hundreds of pounds,not happy at all!!

SORRY YOUVE LEARNT THE HARD way but this is going to happen if you buy cheap. ALWAYS go to a VAG specialist
Who said it was cheap?they have very positive reviews on trust pilot
And if you check their website they are a very big player in the remapping

The only reason to go for a remap instead a box is the fact that the map will be made exactly to your car, optimized. If it's failing, it's clearly a copy/paste, as we know every car/engine is different, reason why a map should be done for your car.
Someone using the same 1.8 TSI would be able to use map 3 +3, but mine the stability is map 3 +2 or 3 +1. Same engine, but again, every engine is different.
Using a box like the one I'm using, from DTUK, you may not get the full potential, but the many maps/options, will make one suitable to your engine, but again, a good remap would give better results.
If you're using good fuel, a panel filter allowing good airflow, I don't see why the car is not 100% smooth 24/7. Those two factors would allow the remap to work without problems.

Problem is this guy isn't the company, hes just an agent. what he has flashed on your car is just a flash and go job.
Them reviews are generally written by people who have no idea at all and just believe everything the guy tells them.

Exactly what you have described,He logged into a system. downloaded a file and flashed it to you car.

Hes a franchise basically, in 6 months time he might get a better offer from another tuning company and will start selling there's instead.
My advise would be to speak to Quantum HQ and tell them what has happend etc.

Surely this IMI Technician would have software and hardware to diagnose the issue with the car himself.
I would speak to Quantum HQ, advise them of the issue. They will probably advise you to come to HQ for testing/diagnostics, if they have a rolling road at HQ? or they will advise you to go to a local dealer than does have the equipment to look into it.
I'm guessing Aled is a mobile guy who turned up and flashed the file?

that's why I was saying that even two cars are not identical. After the remap, as the engine will work harder, to achieve the optimum results, any weak link will show. The main vantage of someone really doing it, and knowing how to do and what's involved, is that in case some problem shows, he will be able to identify the cause, and adjust the map specifically to your car.
Just on a side note, as I drive the 1.8 TSI DSG. For some reason VW/Seat decided for the 7-speed dry clutch, maximum torque 250. If someone try to remap it and ignore the transmission limitations, will damage it. If it was a manual, simply opting for uprated clutch would allow quite some increase in torque. Knowing the limitations, DTUK with their box manage to increase power without going mad with torque, which was increased, but not to the point to cause problems. Same approach should be taken by the person doing the remap.
Another thing to take into consideration is, fuel quality, oil change intervals/quality, and overall status of the engine/components. For fact, using my tuning box, as other using their remaps, premium fuel and shorter oil change intervals are rule. Something like spend 100 to save thousands.

Off topic but why would anyone want to remap a 1.6 ecomotive? The power gains would be significant and if you're really after extra oomph, go for a Fr or cupra.
Sorry if this sounds condescending but it really baffles me when people remap cars that are tailored towards economy and not performance.
