2010 Leon Cupra EML light on

Hello,

My 2010 Leon Cupra has suddenly started revving by itself. Drives fine and power still there. When in neutral is when it revs upto 2000rpm on start up sometimes. Other than that every time when im neutral is will just rev to about 1300rpm as if im blipping the throttle. Even with the clutch down. Eml has came on today. Quite embarrassing as when in traffic or in a parking space everyone thinks im actually doing it.

Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Check you pcv valve...mine used to do this + itd either missfire on idle only as you said it would drive fine otherwise

Thanks for the reply. Where is the pcv valve located?

Today it's just been revving constantly but yesterday it dropped for a little and when it was on idle did seem proper lumpy.

Its screwed onto the rocker cover infront of your coil packs , you will see a hose coming out of it. 4 torx screws and its off, google tfsi pcv issues and compare your symptons to other peoples and you could also find guides on replacing it if needs be

Literally is just the revs, can't hear any boost leaking or anything or power loss. Can't really find much on it regarding my engine. It's all for different engines. Is it still okay to drive? I need my car for work and cant get it to a garage. It's in for a service weekend after next so wondering if it'll last out til then.

Should be okay mate, just order one and change it yourself when it arrives , i beleive you have a cdl engine code?

Maybe ill.ring tps tomorrow then. Isnt there a front and back pcv Have to have a look at a tutorial or something cus i dont know where im looking lol thanks

Thanks for the reply. Ordered the pcv valve, gasket and screws from my local Seat dealer, £66 all in. Parts will be here Wednesday so hopefully i can swap it over and it'll be fixed! If not, then I'm baffled haha.

Just fitted my new pcv and gasket. Eml light still on. Left to ******* engine cover loose cus it wasnt going back on for anything! Suppose i wont know until i drive the car if its cured it. Hope it does

You will need to get it reset.

Just buy a cheap code reader from ebay.

You should be able to reset most codes yourself and for £30 its pretty good.

Another option for about the same money is the Carista app & bluetooth OBD unit. Can change quite a few settings with that, as well as read/reset codes
