After blowing a conti on a pothole this morning on the first week of rain season I'm seriously considering looking for a 17" setup, but if I'm going that way, I would rather have something aggressive and since I will stay at stock height, a stretched tyre won't cut it, it will have to be something like this:

So if anyone has done that on an F5, preferably a Cupra, I would love to see some ideas

i'm also looking to do a similar thing and drop cupra 300 down to 18's, just struggling to find any rims with a close enough offset to stock ET50.

That is relatively easy - Golf rims are running with the same offset and they have lot's of different 18" rim designs.

Try Felgenoutlet. Bought black Borbet (German made) 10 spoke 18" rims for my white Golf GTI. Same offset and look great. Rims came from Poland in 4 days and were cheaper than in UK.

I did a downsize for trackday puposes on my Astra vxr a few years back went from 19's with 235/35/19 to 18s with 255/35/18

Vastly improved comfort and grip , I went with Team Dynamics pro race 1.3 wheels made for me with the correct centre bore so no spiggot rings needed , can highly recommend those rims as very light and super strong

Team dynamics are on my top priorities list for when I hit the lotto.

I had to buy a set of cheap-ish tires since the money is short for the moment, but will continue to pursuit this goal later down the road. I just love how mean a car looks wit big blocky tires and wheels almost grazing the fenders

So finally pulled the trigger on a set of wheels and tires a couple months ago.

Due to low budget and good price, I decided on a set of OEM VW Beetle "Disk" wheels 18x8J et+48 with Sumitomo HTR Z3 245/40/18 tyres.
And while I know that the overall diameter now is larger than stock, the ride quality improved enough to warrant the SUV look.

I'll test them in Auto-X soon enough to see if they outperform the Toyo TM-1 I was running, but on a daily basis, they have superior grip in every condition.

The downside of chosing this particular set of wheels is that the front brake clearence is particularly worrisome. Aset of 5mm spacers in front will come soon and probably go with 7 o 10mm in the rear as well.
