Don't order from the factory if you're impatient!

I recently had a Seat Leon 1.4 TSI 125 FR Technology, all standard, except for the Metallic Mystery Blue paint, on order since 12th August 2017 on a Personal Contract Hire, for my first ever car!

After being told I should receive the vehicle in October, I ordered the vehicle and checked with the dealer every couple of weeks for the build date from the factory, no news until 12th October when I get told that it looks like the vehicle will be coming around December time (still no official date), this did not go down well for me...

As I was hoping for the vehicle in October I started to look around various websites for Seat Leon's that were in stock, and by my astonishment I found a website that had the vehicle I wanted in stock with a few extras included, and it's cheaper than the original car I had on order!

Oh and get this, I ordered this car on Friday 13th October 2017 and it's being delivered on Thursday 19th October!! Why did I not do this sooner!!!

Like anything, if you get lucky and there is the car that you want in stock then great, if you wanted some of the other engines you possibly wouldn't have found them in stock because of those factory delays, having said that my order placed on 18th July arrived in the UK exactly 12 weeks later.

Yeah, there was only the 2.0 TDI ST FR Technology and the 1.4Eco TSI 3dr in stock.

I only asked for the Mystery Blue ones in stock, so they could have had others too.

Use that website, make sure it's looking for a Seat Leon and that the 'Stock Status' says 'In Stock Only'.

I just had a look, it says there is currently;

2.0TDI 184 FR Technology 5dr DSG ST
1.4EcoTSI 150 FR Technology 5dr
1.2TSI SE Dynamic Technology 5dr

Now the company I went with isn't on that list, but if you google 'bridle insurance' they had my vehicle in stock through that contract hire and leasing website. Or you could call them on 01993894981, ask for Jon Stacey, he helped me a tonne.

My wife ordered a FR TSI 1.4 125 in mystery blue on 19th August, she was offered a few other colours too from Seat stock. Collected 1st September.

I ordered a Cupra 5dr DSG in Nevada White on 1st September collected 12th September, could have had any colour other than silver from Seat stock.

I think some dealers are too lazy to look.

Actually the reason I ended up with a Cupra 280 was because my factory ordered focus ST was severely delayed. I doubt i will ever order from the factory again tbh.

I would have happily taken a stock car but the wife only liked the Boheme Purple, which are probably the rarest colour available...
