Can't recommend getting a straight through pipe enough.
Got mine done earlier today, 2 hours and £80. Totally worth it, if anyone is in derby I would recommend the powerflow guys

Is that on a 5 door/3 door losing the resonator AND central silencer?

3 door, and just the central silencer, not too loud, but noticeable. Plus no droning!

Hi I'm thinking of doing this to my car, what would everyone recommended just resonator delete, or just muffler delete. I'm really in two minds as what to get done. Am I right in thinking the resonator is the triangle box? If you could reply that would great

Hi Matey,

Personally I would recommend just getting the centre silencer removed, easy job as a straight section of pipe can replace it. Just have a quick Google search for custom exhausts in your area, give them a ring and they'll give you a quote

I believe that it was 3" diameter pipe, stainless. If you go to a custom exhaust place they will do it all for you, just tell them you want it removing

Stupid question....but can you just buy the twin tips and add to the OEM exhaust....looks mint.

Granted it's not a 280 or 290, but I've just had the resonator delete done on my Cupra 300... I bought it from Progressive Parts and my local garage fitted it. Took them half an hour to fit and cost me £40 (plus the cost of the part).

Here's a really boring video, but one which should hopefully give a good indication as to the idle noise (this was a cold start):

Haha, yes it wasn't the best video either which doesn't help! I can assure you that it most definitely doesn't sound like a diesel though!

The difference in sound is barely noticeable when I'm driving it "normally" (ie. in auto, at normal speeds with no harsh acceleration or downshifts). The exhaust note is slightly deeper and more throaty, but this is more noticeable from outside the car than from within the cabin.

It's a different story altogether when you flick to sport mode though. Put your foot down and it really does open up into a nice throaty bark. Lift off and (provided the engine is fairly warm) it pops and bangs like nobodys business. I've not noticed any significant increase in drone from inside the car either when driving normally, which is great.

To me, it's the ideal combination as it's quiet when I don't really have a point to prove, and it roars when I do!
