Anyone got any idea if this is a worth while job? Or is it more or a bling factor?

Save your money. Ko4 will top out at 280 max and pushed at that. anymore wanted you should be looking at Garrett type turbo build and a built engine. 1.8t get expensive after 280 bhp mate. Very expensive.

Ok thanks.. Just as well to know what's worth while! I'm almost pushing max bar 40bhp! So maybe a subaru might give more! But for now the cupra is the one! Did you know they did a V6 mk1 cupra? 2.8ltr! Imagine that wow.. Nothing for sale tho

Wasn't sold in the uk and was the 2.9 24v lump.
Subaru..deep pockets needed.
I choose the 1.8t because parts are cheap and you can get them everywhere. Cheap fun if you get a clean one, looked after.

There is nothing cheap about dmf! Even the clutch is still expensive.. I'd expect to pay 250 for a full performance clutch only one I've seen is the black diamond that includes everything apart from flywheel

Go for a smf, fit and forget and most likely never have to replace again, shop about, cheaper than dmf. Just get it balanced before you fit it.

ive seen standard engines with K04s break the 300bhp and be around 300bhp. Need your usual decat and intake and a well kept engine but seen plenty do around 300bhp
