New Evo FR owner

Hey guys,

After 3 years of owning my 1.4 TSi Leon with the technology pack, it was time for something new.

Bought my brother in laws 1.5 TSi Ibiza Evo FR from him and he's treated himself to a new Leon FR.

Wasn't expecting that big a jump in performance but the ibiza already feels a lot quicker.

Few things I preferred in my Leon - LED headlights (the brother in law couldn't afford the upgrade when he bought it), the halogen bulbs are shocking in comparison! An armrest and parking sensors. The latter I know I can change myself and I'm very tempted.

Any way, glad to be here and throughly enjoying driving the ibiza!

Welcome. There will be a few jealous if you as the 1.5engine in the Ibiza has been discontinued and can’t be ordered anymore.

Yeah the guy in Seat who my father in law traded my Leon in with said that there's been such a demand for the Ateca with the 1.5 engine in that they've stopped producing them for the Ibiza. Not sure whether that was just a rumour he'd heard, but he seemed certain that was the reasoning behind it.

It's a shame really, it's a lovely engine and in a lighter car it is enjoyable, seems like an odd move by Seat, especially with no plans for a Cupra model for this Mk of Ibiza.

I've had my years of higher performance cars, but a mortgage, soon to be Wife and my 3 year old have to come first, I'd be divorced before I'm even married if I went and got a Cupra, as much as I'd love one.
