I wonder if the UK will get this considering they made the Carbon a limited edition, but in other markets it was just another model you could order and sled how you liked. Also heard that Seat UK only ended up bringing 42 carbons not 50.

Will be interesting to see what happens. It will certainly be a much higher spec than the carbon which is a good thing, but if £36k was too much for people to pay for the carbon, how much will the R be.

Spec wise it’s alreay listed in the Swiss site.

Like the Cuora R DSG it’s 300hp it 310, but that was going to be the case with the new emissions. So it’ll be no faster than other 300’s.
7 speed gearbox.
All the Cupra R exterior carbon fibre and copper bits, but carbon fibre wing mirrors.
Beats
Bucket seats
Sat nav high

Can’t remember what else the R had extra.

Well I have an update, they are already at dealers, This one have been for sale since 28/12. About the same price tag as a highly spec Cupra ST 4drive with performance pack

For thos interested in the spec, this is what the swiss site is listing. Interesting as the swiss carbon edition is 370PS not just 300PS like the R haha And even if they stick an ABT module on the R, it till only be 350 now with the new emissions rules

Seats marketing idea baffles me...

https://imagepool.spruenglidruck.ch/pageflip/seat_pl/d/d_leon_cupra_r_st/index.html

If it was marketed here...

...and had 370ps
...and had some handling tweaks
...and the 7 speed
...and acc and pano roof standard

It could have a list price of say £38k.Anything above £40k would not work...road tax rules!!

Would still only be 350 without any serious mods. ABT Module is good for 370 pre GPF, but only 350 since.

Suspect its partly down to the new exhaust system but also the change in the injection system too.

You'd be mad to pay circa £36k for a SEAT Cupra in the UK limited edition or not, the depreciation will be huge. Currently 2016 reg Cupra's are at £15,500 to £16,000 on autotrader.

You'd be mad to pay £30k for one new TBH and that's a hefty discount as it'll still lose about 50% over 3 years. The list prices are stupid, why can't they just make them realistic as to what they sell for.

Many cars lose 50% in the first three years.
It can be very valid to buy such a car,but those who can afford it might prefer something new that they know has not been thrashed around and whose warranty has just expired.
You pay your money and take your choice,as they say.

Yes I know, i've had 3 new cars and lost a few quid on them all. Currently got an 18 plate Cupra 300 and it's shedding value faster than it goes.
