Cupra 290 sub 8

Hi all,
I'm looking at a cupra which states sub 8 but I can't see bembo brakes or anything but the dealer says it was standard on sub8 pack on 280 but not 290 is this true? I only ask as sub8 pack on this car says wheels but the alloys and brakes look the same as the standard 290's

If I recall correctly the 290 Black Edition came with heated buckets and the same wheels as the Sub8. But most definitely not Brembo brakes.

You're right I had a 290 black edition and the only difference between the sub8 and non sub8 was the brembo brakes and tyres.

Nope it's not a sub8 if it doesn't have brembo brakes.
On a side note, the wheels are horrible to clean!!

This has to be the worst case of false advertising ever. Here we have a local dealer near me advertising a standard cupra as a sub 8. It has no buckets, no sub 8 wheels, tyres, brembos or anything haha!

Also, it appears to have the orange line styling pack or whatever it was called but definitely not a sub 8 car

Wow but has the sub8 orange colour but nothing more.

it's orange line not sub8
sub 8 had brembos multispoke rims and side skirts.

I drive past everyday and see this car sitting there.

cant justify this type of false advertising

Based on how little the dealers know about the cars when it comes to servicing, its probably they just think if its orange its SUB 8

I will have to get my wheel color changed if i ever sell mine

Its a small world.

Their new branch manager Robert is seriously one of the best in the business.

Some of the sales guys are truly awful but he is fantastic.

Here’s my 290 sub 8. It has the 19inch wheels. Big Brembos and heated buckets. Pretty sure if it doesn’t have the Brembos it’s not a sub 8

You could also spec the Sub 8 Ultimate pack if I remember correctly which gave you the Brembos up front, the multispoke alloys (not sure if these are actually lighter or not), side skirts, Cup 2 tyres and it removed about 15-30kg of weight by ditching the central arm rest and A/C etc. I went for the standard Sub 8 Cupra 290 Black Edition which is all of the above except the weight saving and Cup 2 tyres.
