Grinding Noise from Footwell of 2.0TDi FR

It's a 2010 year car. I'm thinking it probably won't be that issue since I'd expect the noise to always exist if that was the case but I could be wrong.

I agree, no possibility of redress from SEAT on that one!

The noises caused by swarf on newer car is never there when new, it just appears later it seems - but not 6 years later.

I'd still go with removing the auxiliary drive belt to see if that stops it, if only to discount anything that gets driven by that belt.

I had this problem with my ibiza. I’m certain it’s something to do with the air conditioning system. All I done to stop the noise was turn on my A/C, left it running for 30 seconds, turned it back off again, and it disappeared! I believe it’s maybe just a bearing race on one of the a/c components which if it isn’t used for a period of time, goes stiff and makes this grinding noise. Quick, free way to fix the problem if it’s just a matter of turning it on and off
