Quick background, my Dad bought this Ibiza 1.4 FR 150bhp new, used it in France, then I bought it with about 27K on it. Because of problems getting it re registered back in the UK, it stood on my drive for about 18 months, 2 batteries and 2 MOT'S later and its now my wife's car. 2 problems, the air con doesn't work, when you switch it on you get a red light on the switch, but the engine revs dont drop on tickover, and no cold air, my Dad told me that it definitely worked before. There is definitely gas in there. The other problem is the cruise control, it doesn't work, it doesn't even light up the cruise control icon on the dash. I have looked for a fuse that may control it but I can't find any fuses related to the CC. The brake lights are fine and I wasn't touching the clutch or brake when I tried to engage it. Both problems have been going on for about 18 months now. I've also got a bit of a grinding noise from the back brakes when driving slowly and a "Hum" from the back which is probably a wheel bearing or two, but that's OK I can fix them myself. It's the air con and cruise control that are baffling me.
