So im looking at possibly buying a Leon 2.0 TFSI 185ps and possibly pulling the interior and converting it to a track car.
First of, is this a very bad idea or can it be fun on track?
Secondly what big problems should i be aware of regarding this engine?

It has had its belt replaced in due time and the engine has now done about 1600000km. To my knowledge it has had few owners and most likely the hpfp cam lobe has never been replaced or inspected, how much damage could this have caused? Would it be a reason to walk away from the car?
I also know about the carbon buildup issue, but i figured it can be cleaned reasonably easy.

The plan is to strip the interior, rebuild brakes and add better pads and fluids, better suspension, perhaps some small engine mods and then tires.

The cam follower is essential and if it has been punched through it will have damaged the cams and the hpfp.

Just look for a car with a history of having the cam follower changed every 20k miles

So basically I should stay far away from this car?
It has been well maintained at seat dealers. But I have no idea if this follower has ever been replaced

If it's been "well maintained by a seat dealer" I would like to think that the seat dealership would know to change the follower. It takes about 15 mins to remove the follower and the part cost about £40.

Well is it s part of the maintenance stated by vag?
I was under the impression it was not, which is why I wrote it.
