Hi all, my dpf light has come on in the past few weeks. Been under the car today and theres loads of soot build up? Anyone got any ideas why theres so much build up outside of the DPF?

Thats oil mate, best figure out where thats coming from (follow it to the highest point)

If you're lucky it's the result of a boost pipe leak, which could also explain why the DPF is clogged.

Thanks for that. I'll replace the hoses going into the turbo and pray it's not turbo its self.

Strange things is that there isn't any oil where I park and the oil level is fine?

Thanks again for the advice, Ive ended up getting the dpf removed so the cars flying now:1st:

Hope you've got a friendly guy come MOT time, DPF removal is an automatic failure now.

I had to get mine re-instated as the previous owner had it chopped out.

I do thankfully, failing that Darkside Development have a fake dpf which i might get to be on the safe side!

Mate just go round all the tuning garages who do MOTs and ask if they can pass it for you. Some will, my garage does me guaranteed pass if you leave bottle of JDs in the glove box lol

Depends on who you know, most round here wouldn't do that for a stranger, DVSA are pretty hot on catching dodgy MOT garages out round here.
