Hi everyone,

I've had my seat leon cupra 290 for 3 months now (70 plate) its done 2k miles on it now, one thing I've noticed recently is that it struggles to grip when accelerating and the car just make slows of noise from the front like jolting and you can feel it in the car. The tyre threads are fine and I have continentals which came stock with the car. The car is stock and I have not made any changes to it. Anyone else have the same problem or noticed it? Launch control is not even an option as it just struggles.

I used to have the problem even in my 1.4 Leon. Have a trawl through the MK3 forum and you should find some good advice. Something to do with having to replace the lower dogbone mount or something. I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will come along and be able to direct you better.

Yeah, the usual combo to improve the situation is PS4S tyres + dogbone mount insert. The only thing I'd add is, owning a 400bhp MK2 Cupra with full set of mounts, lift kit, LSD, PS4S tyres, etc. I still get the axle tramp and wheelspin pulling away, it's a lot of power for just two driving wheels. Generally when you see these types of cars being dragged on youtube, the 4WD or RWD tend to get off the line much much quicker. Where FWD has the advantage is 30mph+ rolling 3rd gear.

Who said it wasn't?
but your post reads as if you are surprised that it struggles for grip when accelerating? are you surprised by this? or are you not happy with what the car is doing when it loses grip?
Do you have traction control on? then it will slow.
Yes bog bone mounts can help with excessive shaking/engine movement etc. However it does not actually give any more grip.

A tour reaction control on.
The car will bog down as the wheels slip.
Turn it off and send it.
