Looking to buy a SEM inlet manifold (found a large port one second hand) but need an adapter to fit a stock throttle body but what type do I need and who supplies good quality ones? Are the all the same bolt pattern and will? Would go SEM but they don’t seem to sell them either - understandable seeing as they don’t sell the intake.

Where the hell did you find that?

You'll need a transitioning phenolic inlet spacer to go from large to small port.

Someone breaking a TT track car on book of face.

It comes with the inlet spacer as well but had a 70mm TB so I need to find a new TB adapter to suit my set up ow and some bungs for the WMI ports.

Ok gotcha, aren't they drilled for both size throttle bodies or am I just thinking of the IE ones?

They are an 80mm as standard and have 2 adapters for 70mm and 60mm I believe but need to do some more digging as most posts I find have dead links or images etc. And hence the question here.

Yeah I've seen those ones but haven't read any specific feedback on them which makes me hesitant to buy one.
The Grams / 034 intake is quite tempting though.

Im usually happy to buy items made in Germany. They have a no nonsense attitude to manufacture.
But i agree that with no proof that theyre a decent mod then its an unknown quantity.

The 034/grams was where i was looking and to be honest had been tempted by the IE one purely for the quality and data behind them - not that the others were bad.

Saw this for anyone looking. Not as good as the SEM but for the price it’s a good deal. Typical as it’s much cheaper than I paid!

If it wasn’t for the APR name I think it wouldn’t be worth a punt but there is some reasonable data for them from a few years back and not a bad price considering it comes with a TB as well.

Thought I’d share just in case as I know stuff for the 1.8t are becoming hard to come by - Jabba exhaust manifolds for example.

It does make me feel better about mine, not that it was a million miles off that price and I haven’t actually seen a decent photo of it...

Just putting off getting one machined up as I’m sure there’s one out there.

Double id say.

Dont get me wrong, im a realist.

If i were after 400+hp (im not) from my car, would i have to use that manifold? Make or break sort of thing?

In its defence, it looks good.

Yes way overpriced but then £26 (brand new) headlight covers going for £250+ and £85 (new) gear knobs going for £300 in comparison isn’t bad as these were about £700 new.

Still more about looks and bragging rights (I’m a kit monster!) for me rather than actually gains per £. That and it’s all the bits I wanted to do the first time round - LSD needed? Nope, but will it be fitted yes!

Fair do's 👍

I had to have twin 40s in my old Escort because i had to have twin 40s lol
+manifold+modded distributor+ setting up = 1k

Just thought that manifold was made of solid silver.
