Standard stereo

So another question - I’m about to pull the trigger on a V2 and was wandering what the standard stereo is like. The website doesn’t really give much info.

We've talked about this in other threads. My opinion is that it is worse than Mk3 Leon. I don't have many other comparisons. I think that most people agree that the sound system is average at best.

I have VZ Edition and stereo is not bad at all. I upgraded my last car (alfa) for £950 to have harmon pardon with sub and not much difference... How good is "Beats" anyway? make naff headphones...

If in the UK Beats isn’t available. From what I’ve read it’s not that good a system.

Im sure there will be an after market upgrade to the Sound System available later on.

Tweak the equiliser and set the sound focus on the driver and you can get a decent sound

Don't worry it is actually as good , and build quality means no rattles or buzzes from interior!!

I had 3 cars in a row with Bose and 2 with Harman Kardon at the same time. After testing my favourite music in Formentor, I decided I won't be listening to some of it, because I can't make it sound good. So going to stick to some standard tunes, just to kill silence from time to time.

I don't think, I would pay extra for Beats if it was available in UK. I don't know their quality, never had any product.

I think is very good, better than the bose in my mazda.

I have poor audio no matter what. Slightly better if tweaking sound towards the front.

Many many rattles at higher volume.

Max volume isn't loud to me.

I don’t have a formentor, I have the ateca and the beats sounds fantastic compared to the previous standard unit, the sub adds to the sound quality, my only gripe being the equaliser has no preset.

I had a karoq with canton sound system sub in spare wheel and extra speakers in cab in my opioion cupra std setup is as good maybe a bit better

Evo magazine have a VZ2 on their long term fleet and the chap running the car commented how good the sound system was in his round up this month.

I don't have my car yet so no personal opinions but thought this was encouraging from someone testing lots of different cars.

Varied tbh, dance, RNB, rap, oasis etc.

I have noticed that the sound quality varies based on the age of the music, ie anything released in last few years sounds much better than say 2001 by Dre.

I was being a little tongue in cheek but as you ask... 30+ software issues, cupra UK hardly willing to help. Needing the car for a full day to update some software components, poor audio, too many nagging safety systems, soundaktor, paintwork that scratches so easy, plus many more.

Any new VAG car will have the same annoying systems. Other brands probably too. Paintwork is similar on most cars and scratches from looking at it. Even on premium and more expensive cars.
