Hopefully they find a way to update the system so you can have them all turned off indefinitely. Older cars don't have such systems so surely it cant be mandatory to have them on all the time? I think you will be able to find something you like in 19 months and I hope your ownership in the mean time becomes more fulfilling!

I was just on company conference call and working from office for 3 days per week was mentioned. If I have to commute again, Formentor will be the workhorse to take the mileage on. I may even exceed contracted miles due to 80 miles daily, but excess miles are cheap. And if we finally allowed to go abroad, miles would increase quickly. So, I will certainly use the car, but it will be more robotic experience, than I would want it to be.

Dealer demo’s are always overpriced. Nobody buys these cars cash, so it’s down to the finance deals.
They will also be ragged from cold on pretty much every test drive if that’s the kind of thing that would put you off.
My very well looked after, ultra low mileage VZ Edition is going to WBAC in around a week I expect. Anyone wants the top of the range (in the U.K.) Formentor for £38k give me a PM.

Gosh Agnes and Cupra Craig you must both have had some really fantastic fast and exotic cars in your time, i would love to know what great cars you have both owned and where you have driven them, I suspect lots of track days, places like The Nordschleife, Siverstone, Brands Hatch, i bet the list is endless, i would really like to know more.

It’s a daily runaround for ferrying my daughter around in.
Will do the job just as well as the Formentor without the frustration factor.

When I want a bit of fun with character I take the Twizy out.
Sure, neither will be fast, but when fast is as much fun as it is in the Formentor I struggle to see the point.

Tried them and they were going to market for less than WBAC had offered (same as I’ve been offered in part-ex) and were very pushy (ie if we advertise and achieve this price we expect you to accept, even though the price was less than I had been offered by WBAC) so I decided not to pursue.

might try them again and see if they can be a little more ambitious.

I'm struggling to understand why you cannot just turn off the driver aids when you turn the car on?

From what I can tell of my Formentor so far, the driving dynamics are fabulous, it's great over bumps and undulations, a nice handler. I've had a lot of "nice" cars, Alfa's, Porsche's (Panamera, Cayman, 997.2, 991.1), Audi's, BMW's etc. The Formentor is easily as good as them, certainly the BMWs and Audis.

I for one am looking forward to motorway driving without the stress of speeding up and slowing down "manually". The roads are overcrowded and driving on the normal road network day to day is not fun in any way.

If you want a real "drivers" car I suggest you don't buy anything made after 2011. Everything since then is drive by wire, turbo and digital/fake.

You can switch off most of the aids when switching the car on, every time. But you can't make ACC to change to standard cruise.

There are decent cars made after 2011, but not recently. There are some nice V8s non-turbo.

What is the problem with adaptive cruise control? You can set it to more or less the distance you want from the car infront. Tailgating and hassling other drivers from behind is unsafe in any case. If they do anything unexpected, you may plough into the back of them if your too close trying to send them telepathic messages...

No, of course the fast Porsche's are DIFFERENT to the Cupra, but for their respective jobs (one being a sports coupe, the other being a tallish hatchback) they are all good at their respective roles.

I just got rid of my 2019 BMW X3 because it was a horrible car to drive, wallowing all over the place and a lungy diesel engine, impossible to drive smoothly, poor fuel economy, big mistake buying that. The Cupra is a far superior car to that BMW. If you would compare the Cupra to any 1 series, A3, Giulietta, Focus etc it would compare pretty well.

And, I can confirm that they paid off my BMW finiance and paid me the balance... phew...
