Hi friends

I'm a bit confused. Dies changing to Normal drive mode in seat ateca 1.5 tsi deactivate the eco 2 cylinder mode?
As when i drive in Eco mode this is the case, the 2 cylinder mode with the eco symbol appears.
When i change the mode to normal, nothing change regarding these. And i started to notuce that 2 cylinder mode appears alittle more frequent in normal mode over eco mode.
Is that normal, i thought that when driving in normal mode, the eco 2 cylinder system deactivated.

Don’t know about the Ateca but in our Leon which is always in sport mode the act operates as per the other two modes. HTH.

^^ This,
on our Leon ACT operates in all driving modes. It's a guess, but I would imagine the Ateca is no different.

I read once in one post that some guys don't like the eco 2 cylinder freqyent changing so they switched to normal mode. So i supposed that switching to normal mode deactivate the ACT.

Well DSG, Eco feels more sensible that it alters the DSG change. I seem to recall you are able to set up a personal profile where you tweek the settings. I don't bother. Keep it in normal ?. There it has stayed for four years in normal mode, except when snow about or parked on soft grass where I go for snow or 4 drive.

I left it in normal since a while. But it activating the ACT always, iam asking to see if it is abnormal, so to go to the dealer to check it.

I don't reckon anybody knows but you can have a look to see whether you have "Individual" on your set up. I called it personal, it's actually called individual. That's the user balance on the settings... make your own up. Something to look for in the menus. That's suppose to be the configurable bit of the options. Never touch it myself or the paddles except in adverse conditions.

I already tried the individual profile
However, the ACT and eco symbole active in all modes ( i didnt try sport mode yet).
The question is: shouldn't the eco (ACT) turned off in normal profile?

Don't reckon so. I think you got two competing systems that work independently since VAG wants the economies reflected in their fuel efficiency figures and that means it's always on to kick in... well I reckon.

In my 2018 Leon FR 1.4TSi (150) ACT DSG the 2-cylinder mode operates in Eco, Normal & Sport.
I always drive with engine & steering in Sport & A/C in Normal.
Sport does NOT change the DSG gear ratios; it just causes the change points on a light throttle to be at a higher speed, hence holding on to the lower gears for longer.
I never use Sport mode on the DSG. If I want to be ready to accelerate I use the paddles to down shift.

So, with a manual 1.5 TSI, does changing the modes actually do anything noticeable at all?

Or as previously suggested, a bit of a pointless and ineffective gimmick on non Cupras.....

I can say on a diesel DSG which isn't what we are talking about Eco changes the shift. In 7th on a hill it's very free running . I found it too weird when I was driving back from Luxembourg up and down the hill. In a diesel it messes up your regeneration creating by loweing the revs, more active ones than passive ones, passives ones can lead to un burnt oil going back into the engine... which then can flood. I think the consequence of this is that after the first production Atecas they altered how Eco works so it forgets the setting on the start up. Mine remembers so you crawl off slow in a car park.I did this test once when it came up a few years back when people started to complain that it forgets Eco although the switch it is turned to it. My 2016 faithfully remembers it. I think you petrol people all get the solution on regeneration even thou you haven't got it. :ROFLMAO:

In a manual you would expect Eco to effect how the engine performs since it's not working with the changes through the DSG. It was always the odd one out on a manual compared with a DSG where it effects the changes to keep the revs down and free wheels at time. You would think it effects the engine tuning and / or ACT.
