Hi Guys, the post 2017 Facelift Leon has Fake Brake Ducts, is this the same on the Cupras? as I like the look of the Intake Grills on the Curpras but not on my standard FR but the part says only compatible with Cupras. is this correct or can the grills from them be put on a standard Leon?

The FR ones are definitely solid. Dont think they're fake though - they obviously don't look like intakes, they're a fog light + solid insert
The Cupra ones are a fully functional grille, but no fog lights in them
They're a direct and easy swap onto a standard Leon anyway, not just for Cupras

FR ones are a different grill pattern and solid. They also have different plastics behind so there is no ducting to the wheel well to feed air to cool the brakes anyway.
The Cupra's are open and have the extra bits behind the scenes, but it annoyed me the grills didn't match the central grills like the pre facelift did. I mean they made them match on the FR above.
The Cupra R grills are by far the best looking as the grill pattern matches the central grills like the pre facelifts did.
The RS3 Audi goes one step further by having additional plastics on the suspension arms to feed that air more directly to the brakes, some people retro fit these to the Cupra.

Audi (yes Audi) being stupid or cheapskates. Likely number crunchers made the decision that causes the issue:
Basically, the brake discs are the same part both sides. Not an issue if the brake disc ventilation isn't directional. But it is. So one side has the directional venting working the right way. Where as the opposite side is working against itself.
Not really an issue for the roads, but for track work, combined with the standard pads not being great for the track, means you'll get overheating on side, then if you come to a stop, the pads will start to leave deposits on the discs, making you think the disc is warped, when it isn't.
And this isn't only on the Leon, but the RS3 and RS6's as well. Not sure if they've sorted it on the latest fast Audi's, but the RS6 you needed to spec Carbon ceramic brakes to get correctly handed brakes.
I hope the R8's discs weren't so cheap.

I'm definitely not imaging it am I, the duct edges stick further out from the bumper than the standard ones? They look more 'scoop' like to me than stock?
Mine for comparison, which are definitely solid but to my eyes don't look like ducts anyway;

If you're going for the Cupra R grills, then as you have the bumper off anyway to fit them (it is doable without but) I'd recommend doing all the grills to the Cupra ones so they match.
Some people may moan (not me) that you're making your car into a wannabe Cupra , but so long as your either de-badging or refitting an FR badge who cares. There are enough Cupra owners trying to make theirs look more like a Cupra R
Not the OP so wasn't planning on changing my grills, but now you've mentioned it I hadn't realised that the Cupra and FR honeycombs are different!
Not sure you could fit a Cupra top grill sans badges, as the space in the plastic to secure the flag badge is a different shape - my FR one has a space the same shape as the letters... Guessing no-one makes an aftermarket badgeless grill? Asides from the Xperience grill, which is different again and wouldn't match anyway
Could never swap now you've made me notice the honeycombs would all be mismatched ?
