A few weeks or months of storage in Barcelona won't be an issue

This and the weather forecasts for august in Europe remind me of the famous "melted megane" ;)

All that melted plastic and extra aerodynamic drag must offset the horsepower benefits of Senor Megane's K&N filter :ROFLMAO:

I just spoke with Abby at Cupra, who informed me that she checked a June order earlier for a Formentor with a number of extras on it, that has a notional delivery date of January! She asked for my SLI number to enable her to get a more specific date for my car. I spoke with my broker who said that they do not have them as this is held by the finance company who often have secured a batch, etc. She did however, say that the target date of October still ok. I'm going loopy reading some of the stories of woe this site! I need a holiday!!!!

I have a VZ3 ordered late April. My dealer informed me two weeks ago that the car was built but held up in Spain. I tried Cupra Customer Support for an update and got told to speak with my dealer again. Today the dealer confirmed the car is held up waiting for computer chips but according to Seat the delay is only a couple of weeks. I’m not confident.

Stranger things have happened. I hope it comes through for you. Please let us know either way. Fab group name by the way, it summarises the whole waiting situation in one word!

Hi all, I’m a newbie on here looking for guidance.
it seems a number of people on here ordered via Leasing Options, like I have.
I ordered my VZ2 in May (a couple of days before the price increases) and was told I was ordering from pipeline stock (?) with a delivery date of late September. I haven’t yet had a build date and there is still no update On when it’s going to be built, nevermind actually delivered.
is anyone in the same boat and ordered around the same time ?
I’m like a kid at the moment, far too excited to wait, but desperately trying to be patient.

Good Afternoon, first time here.

I ordered through a leasing company a week ago that stated in stock a V2 1.4 Hybrid 201bhp,
I have been updated that the stock is currently sitting at UK port a mix of hybrids and smaller engine sizes in metallic paint with either blue or black leather they are all registered 21 plates and i can expect delivery in 3-4 weeks.

I can only assume the company that brought them all got the order in way before all the shortages.

I have been driving a 345bhp jaguar for few years so it will sure be different the change has come about for the ever extending family and having to get more mature as the better half puts it.....

I have always brought used vehicles couple years old so will be my first lease and new car. Fingers crossed its delivered when they say.

Not the news i wanted considering my car was meant to be built last week !!
plan B then.

Im so sorry after the dealership have checked this out your vehicle did not go into build as planned and build dates have now been removed and we do not know when these will go in for production.

There is a shortage out there at the moment on the semi-conductors, affecting lots of industries not just the automotive industry.

Here's a link for you purely should you wish to read about it. We will let you know as soon as the build dates settle for your vehicle so that you can have a more accurate ETA.

Please see the link attached -https://www.leasingoptions.co.uk/news/latest-news/semiconductor-shortages/8449

I have copied your account manager into the email, so they are aware of our conversation.

Kindest regard's

So similar story to one posted earlier. Car was supposed to be built and wasn't. Are you looking for something else or waiting?

really wish i had not sold the M240i ......had a look there is nothing about its really bad...looked at used but what there is dealers are asking ridiculous money...

I’m trying to be optimistic, but I haven’t heard a thing in over 6 weeks. Not even sure the car was built on 01/07/21. Pretty much exhausted all YouTube videos on formentor reviews. Saw one for the first time on the road the other day and looked stunning. Nothing out there matches it for aggressive looks in the same category. Proper head turner. Hanging in there for the time being.

This is a topic on another -non car- forum I visit, it’s a problem with every marque it seems, some of which are making no promises of deliveries this year, that’s not to say that there may not be any, but the answer to chip delivery dates is ‘how long is a piece of string?’ so let’s not make promises we might not be able to keep, so stick the kettle on, sit back and have a brew, it’ll happen when destiny allows it, or panic and worry which doesn’t help.

I've done the exact same thing :ROFLMAO: I watched a lot of reviews on YouTube before I ordered my Formentor, then seemed to watch everything on YouTube that I could find about the Formentor once I had ordered it. My mate was behind a camouflage green one last night and sent me a pic, both of which don't really help with the anticipation ?

I know the feeling, waiting for months without knowing is quite frustrating. I’m in since March but finally got my car confirmed as fully built this morning and I should expect it within 3-4 weeks.

All I can say is that patience is the key. If you can wait, that is. On the other hand it’s probably a waiting game regardless brand, unless there’s a built car ready to be shipped. For me the waiting is worth it but I understand if that’s not the case for everyone. Better updates by the Cupra factory would at least make the process less frustrating.

Better updates? Its not ready and the chips are on back order? What more can they tell you?
Should tell you truth from the off ....I was lied to by cupra twice saying car was currently in production and then 9 days later was told it never went into production ,all this info I had to dig myself it was only when I sent a stern email to the company that they then informed me it was cancelled .....
they tell the customer what they want to hear sometimes and its just not good enough.5 years ago we had the tech to track an order on the website for a Volkswagen Golf R why is it so difficult for Cupra to have this !!!
yes there is a world wide semiconductor shortage we all know about it but the companies still take your orders and when we ask about possible delays they say nothing !! sorry not good enough at all.

I get that and I’m no car manufacturer expert, but I don’t believe that a process driven business as the car industry is working completely in the dark. Every manufacturer is doing what they can in terms of component deliveries and there is some kind of order in which they receive the parts. What I mean is that their customers are frustrated and they should do their outmost updating them. I’m not saying that they intentionally keep us in the dark since that doesn’t benefit their business at all.
There might be other things such as capacity, surprise of demand and so on which can also affect deliveries.
There’s room for improvements, don’t you think?
