Well, after a few years away, I am making a return to Cupra tomorrow. Picking up a Red Cupra Ateca. Never actually driven the Ateca, but looking forward to it. Managed to get the facelifted version for a reasonable price.

Just sold my M135i XDrive (for a nice tidy profit), which I wasnt overly impressed with so looking forward to picking up the new motor tomorrow. Will post some pics as and when I get it.

I do like the red on the fl C-A.When you say reasonable price,I’m curious as the market is crazy at the moment due to the component shortages.
Any discounts to be had,or was it just reasonable due to what you’ve made on the M135?

It was an ex demo registered in Dec 2020 with 5k miles on it, £32,500. Everything else on Autotrader at the same money was pre facelift. so thought it was a decent price. What I made on the 135 helped with the monthly's of course, but I thought it was a decent deal.

The online prices might look a bit high but when I was looking for the Cupra estate, I had watched them on autotrader and the first editions weren't moving. I emailed a dealer, rang another one with the price that I would like to pay and told them I had the cash and a part ex waiting. They were already reduced as they were ex demo 70 regs and the 71 reg was due out. I offered £2500 less than the asking price and both dealers agreed.
There are a couple of members on a detailing forum who keep saying it's a bad time to buy blah blah and we are just fueling the madness by buying but I wonder if they have actually spoken to any dealers and told them that they have the cash etc or are they just going from what they think is happening and haven't been anywhere near a dealer to actually get a good deal (y)
I have bought loads of cars but wouldn't have dared make an offer when I was younger. I get braver as I get older

It was a good deal as you say and they are few and far between on the facelifti f you take the online prices at face value.
As Sarah says though,if you show that you’re serious, deals could still be available.
