Looks nice and mine was done professionally with Gyeon coating before I got it , only pain in the arse is it shows up finger prints really bad and smears but beads well.

Looks good, which coating did he use?
Make sure you use safe washing methods, ceramic coatings are good but they're not miracle workers. Don't wanna create any swirls after having them removed.

I was getting lots and a real pain but ive gradually removed the coating as for me i prefer wax and just easier but don't get me wrong as a ceramic coating does look good.

Agree, a ceramic coating does look good and does provide good protection against the elements. From a car washing perspective, washing should be quicker and easier as road dirt and grime wont cling to the paintwork as easily. That’s one of the big benefits of a ceramic coating for owners who are ‘time poor’ and don’t have the luxury of being able to spend 2-3 hours washing their car every 10-14 days.

However, having a car ceramic coated isn’t a guarantee against all paintwork damage; bird droppings left on a ceramic coated car may still etch the paintwork - especially if left on for prolonged periods - requiring the damaged area to be corrected and re-treated. Don’t ceramic coating also require periodic (chargeable?) inspections to maintain any guarantee / warranty provided when the coating is applied?

Also, IMHO ceramic coatings either won’t - or are unlikely to - provide protection against swirl marks from an improper washing technique and / or automatic car washes or water spotting in hard water areas, and scratches / stone chips will still happen.

Ceramic coatings, waxes and sealants all have their place and individual owners will have their preferences. Like you, I also prefer wax, and I enjoy waxing my car. I’m fortunate enough to be ‘time rich‘ (retired) so have plenty of time to be able to fit in waxing my car every 3-4 months.

Tbh, with a ceramic coating I wouldn't even say you need 2-3 hours.
Before I switched back to wax I could go 2-3 weeks without a wash and it wouldn't take that long to do.
Surfex > Snowfoam(BH Touchless) > Contact wash > BH Touch-On > Blow dry. Less than an hour if my silver wheels aren't black.

Ceramic for wheels is a whole different level, they can be cleaned with almost zero effort.

I do agree with you on waxing though, there's something so satisfying about it. The value of my wax collection is probably enough to ceramic about 5 cars.
If you haven't tried it, Gyeon Q2 Wax is brilliant, I'd say it's the closest product to ceramic. Easy application, good durability and excellent beading. I've always stuck with Double-Speed, but this is a big step up in terms of wax.
