ACC Problems

Hi All, Is anyone else having issues with the ACC getting confused between mph and kph when set to follow speed signs and road layout?
Mine randomly decides that the correct mph as shown on the digital dash and mapping screens is actually in kph, eg. when it is 30mph, the ACC changes to 19mph and slams on the brakes .... same for all other speed signs etc etc. All I've been advised to do by SEAT/CUPRA is not to use it which is a wholly unimpressive answer!!

Seriously?

Have a search around on the Tormentor forum and you'll find more than one example of that particular issue.

There is talk on the Leon 4 forum here. I mused whether it was whether you had the infotainment system on before turning on the ignition. Mib2 defaults to kph before you turn on the ignition, does correct itself. There was a solution over there as I recall of rebooting the unit with the long press on on/off. Don't think thats a proper solution thou....

Bit of Googling without heading to the Tormentor site the issue is common across the VAG brands Tiguans, ID3s etc. Its a Vag facelift bug with ACC. Tiguan people got a fix by having their software updated. That's the route to take.

Tiguan people were getting the fix in June 2021. Dealer update.

Cut & paste of the Tiguan solution... Formentor will be the same.

I'm seeing a similar issue with my Formentor V2 that I picked up last week. It seems to occur intermittently and what I have noticed is that the road signs picked up by the camera, display on the dash in Kph rather than Mph (but it tends to correct itself after a while), but with ACC enabled it then seems to think I am driving on the right side of the road (as if I was in continental Europe) as it brakes for cars that it picks up on the left of the car (when on a dual carriage way or motorway), rather than the right side of the car.

Ah that's where you need the Obdeleven Pro thread to turn off the undertaking prevention so if it gets confused it doesn't kick in. Radical. It's a pinned thread. There might be a software fix for that issue. Pass.

Needs to be a user thread I reckon with which software fixes which bugs so people know what to ask their dealer for. Something the dealer won't do like toggling lane assist to last setting etc. The undertaking issue bugs some people even when it's working correctly so you can mod that out.

I have this issue. I can replicate it consistently. Reboot your infotainment when you’re driving and I bet it happens. Hold your finger on the power button until you get the exit assist warning error. I’m currently going through Seat’s “executive” resolution team about it. I think replacing the infotainment will fix it as I’m stuck in the dumpster fire that is version 16.

So has there been any software update re this?

I did a 200 mile journey yesterday on the motorway and spent most of it kicking the throttle on cruise to get it to overtake cars on the inside lane...

The car clearly believes (or wishes to be) in Spain.

I'm still experiencing this behaviour too. I took it back to the dealer in October and they apparently reset some of the sensors and asked me to monitor for further occurrences. I wasn't confident this would resolve the issues I was experiencing and needless to say the issues have persisted. I will be taking my car back to the dealer again at some point in the next month or two.

In addition to the ACC issue that you have described I also get a fairly frequent, but intermittent flashing up of a warning on the dashboard, which states front assist is unavailable. Other than these niggling issues I have enjoyed driving the car, so I do hope they can find a fix for these the next time I take it in...I shall post the outcome of that on here in due course.

So I own a Cupra Formentor 1.5 TSI 150 V2, for just short of 1 year, just had its first service and was told I need to do a "customer software update", just done it today and nothing now works on the informant system.....very frustrating!
Had some serious safety issues with the ACC reading street sign speeds and converting it to kph like others while on the motorway braking the car instantly, very dangerous, lived with it till first service but now no informant system at all....
Back to the shop tomorrow morning 🤦‍♂️

Ah an East German car 😉.

Clearly the dealer doesn't know their stuff.

The post from East Yorkshire Retrofit was most informant on which vehicles were getting which upgrades. It was only those on 16xxs as I recall got the full works of fixes whilst the others were held back, but whatever they did shouldn't kill the infotainment system.

There is one case on the board where a dealer wound the infotainment firmware update back since they couldn't get it on the latest. Ninja as I recall.

So just received a call from the dealer and they said that it needs a "5s Control Unit" replacement (whatever that is), anyhow let's see how long it takes as they were unsure where to get it from or how long it takes...
