Does anyone else have complaints given to them about not being able to be heard very well while on a phone call. I get told it's so tinny, and that it sounds like I'm in a fish bowl.

Is this the microphone?

On the left hand side of a right hand drive car.......?

Has anyone tried swapping the two grills over, to make the microphone closer?

I have increased the sensitivity of the microphone using obd11, but doesn't seem to get any better.

Any suggestions would be great. I don't really want to resort to using my Bluetooth earpiece.

Thanks in advance...

If you do a search on the site you will see there are a few threads on this

Mine I have to say works very well, one of the things the other threads talk about does your voice control work ok, its a good way to see if the mic is working.

Some people have had to get it replaced under warranty but i am guessing yours is now out of warranty

I have some pics of the setup which I will try and dig out if that helps.

Sorry I will admit I didn't search the site. As over the past months of using this site I have not come across any threads.... I assumed.... My bad.

I will look now...

Yes my voice control works perfectly. It has done everything I have asked first time...

Yeah mine will be out of warranty for sure.

If you can dig up those pics that would be great... Thanks.

Ok had a search. Looks like it is because the microphone is on the left hand side...

So my plan is now to figure a way of cutting out these grills and swapping them over...

Right, where's my dremel....

Or maybe using the microphone from my pioneer head unit and just cutting the wires and joining together..

Thanks for the kick up the arse to use search...

No Problem, Just so happens I have seen this issue a few time now, its always worth a quick search.

Hello!

@Wastedagen do you remember the solution?
Seems that I'm having the same issue.

Thanks in advance
Sorry for the delay. I just replied to you PM.

But I'll add my results here too.

I didn't do any chopping or cutting. In the end I used OBD eleven to adjust/recode the microphone sensitivity. I just cranked it up to max. Can't remember what that is mind as it was so long ago.

After that people said they could here me fine.
