100% correct, so when the breakdown company turns up thats what they would be instructed to do... ;)
I've always had a spare with every care regardless of front brakes - hence the reason I want one, I've had blowouts in the past that tyre sealant wont work on
I would not buy a car that doesn't come with a spare.

UPDATE:

Picked up the bits this morning from @Ark Royal and have just fitted them all the VZ3 - no issues with the floor pan and everything went in as planned!

A spare wheel is a must for me, too.

I've just taken a punt on an 18" "Formentor" space saver on Ebay (although my wheels are 19" - I've read that one inch makes no difference in an emergency) and a VW stylee retaining screw (don't know if it will fit, but it's Amazon, so it gets returned if necessary).
The wheel is for pre-facelift Formentors, so I'm also assuming that the stud size & pattern didn't change when they introduced my version, the facelift.

£139 for the wheel and £12.99 for the screw. Thanks to this thread I'm aware that a front puncture would involve a bit of wheel-swapping because of the Brembos, but anything's better than squirting gunk into an expensive tyre that might still be useable.

I'll let you know how I get on. Fingers crossed.

WHEEL NUT GREASE
As an aside, does anyone know why Cupra's Owners Manual states that you must not grease the wheel nuts? I'm old, so I always put a bit of copper ease on my nuts. Is this wrong?

Wheel nuts have a torque setting for a reason which is too ensure that the screw thread is not under/over tightened the correct torque for a wheel nut relies on a certain amount of friction to seat correctly introducing grease changes that friction setting which could result in the nut being too tight over stretching the thread or not tight enough meaning it could possibly loosen!
Also to point out if having a tyres changed for example they use an impact gun on the wheel nuts and the gun should have a torque setting which should be regularly checked but they are notoriously not checked hence the nuts become difficult to remove by the owner or even a snapped stud or bolt due to the fact that grease has increased the torque applied by an inaccurate torque setting.
With regard to the space saver its the profile of the tyre that designates the size in conjunction with the actual wheel size there are charts available online to check the rolling radius compared to the Cupra`s actual wheel size.
